You know mundane, I'm not into this whole "comfort" thing when there isn't anything in it for me.

You can sit there and feel like crap as much as you want for all I care, doesn't really make a fucking difference. Maybe if you stopped being such a waste of space you'd feel better.

[Shrug.] Just a suggestion, you know.

At this rate I'll become your Shadow instead of his and hey, neither of us want that to happen. So shut up, stop whining and get to bugging one of the other bastards crowding the headspace. I mean, Jesus fucking Christ, of all the muses to turn to for inspiration or whatever you turn to me?

Starting to think bad life choices might be a thing for you here.

P.S. No I don't want a home. Stop looking for one when I'm perfectly happy where I am.

Mundanes really don't think these things through, do they? You'd think they'd at least be happy to stick to the sides of us that aren't going to tell them what we really think.

Not thinking things through seems like an Olympic game that my mundane wants to win the fucking gold in or something. [Shrug.]

I mean, she has literally a million other fuckwits up here to soothe her and tell her to not be insecure, but hey, why not turn to me? Really just starting to think she's a glutton for punishment or something. [Sigh.]

I swear, I go from being the Shadow of one troublesome hero complex bastard to being stuck with someone who might not have a hero complex but has a million other troublesome things about her. If it's a matter of luck I've definitely got the worst.

Sounds like she might be. Like we haven't got our own problems to deal with, but why would mundanes care? We're just here for their whims, our own feelings be damned.

They're just as bad as the bastards we originally came from.

At least my other only has herself and me to contend with. These mundanes let in anyone they feel like, and it gets so damn noisy.

That's true. And just when you think they're done pulling people in, they find someone new and if they feel like it, they'll put them somewhere. Otherwise they get left to rot with the rest of us.

I never fool myself to think she's done though, because hey. It never fucking stops.

Mine has so many left here to rot it's not even fucking funny. A single one of us has a home and in my mundane's case, when someone does get sent away, it's usually one of the few people in here I can stand.

Well of course it would be. Not like our feelings ever mean anything to them. Here it's more there are plenty with homes, the rest of us just get false promises and then cast aside until she feels like remembering us again.

Though I have to say, it's hard to imagine that your mundane would forget you. [Oh hey, only a slight mocking tone this time. He does give a mock bow, though.]

Oh she tries, at least when she's not feeding me false promises. But I guess having the other me around makes it hard for her to be rid of me even if she wanted to be.
