How about origin stories? I'll start. I grew up in the circus, my parents and I had a trapeze act. One day, we performed at Gotham City; a city with a reputation for organized crime. One of the gangs tried to extort protection money from the circus, but the owner wouldn't pay. During the performance, some thugs broke in and started shooting. Both my parents died in the attack.

I was penniless, had no family, and stranded in one of the most dangerous cities in the country. Luckily, I was adopted by the owner of a tech-firm who moonlighted as a crime-fighter. Been in the business ever since.

My dad was a cop. Before I was born, he was framed for some bullshit drug charges. My mother committed suicide while she was pregnant with me. I went to live with my dads friend, Marcus until my dad got out of jail and when he did, I went to live with him.

That isn't to say some can't be placed on friends but I have a bit more knowledge of when those are appropriate.

Though to be honest I think he might see you as a close friend due to how much you're like our brother. You have a bit more forethought but you are just as brash and a fighter.
