There's nothing wrong at all with Bag End but a change of scenery and air might do wonders.

Sitting by the fire with a nice cup of tea is enough for me, nephew.

I'm sure your home is fine. It seems to be more a matter of what is convenient than it is with what is right and wrong.

I hardly find being pushed out of my comfortable home convenient, good sir.

I'm not sure it's your convenience they care for.

[If that's true, she is exactly like Gandalf.] That's quite rude. Perhaps she will listen to reason.

Perhaps she will. I see no harm in trying.

Then I shall give it a try. [He smiles.] Oh dear, I didn't ask for your name. Introductions are in order I believe.

I believe they might be. My name is Robin Hood, and I suppose that makes it my turn to ask for yours.

[theburglar]

Bilbo Baggins. [A pause.] Robin Hood? My writer is smiling from ear to ear. Are you famous?

I've heard tell I grow to become a legend, but for the moment I like to think of myself as more of a local name. [He does look pleased, though. And perhaps a little smug.]

I could ask you the same question. Your name seems to have the same effect on mine.

It's not a home like the one you recall in Bag End. They are better described as games and I assure you, if your mundane wishes to send you to one... I'm afraid the choice will not be yours.

Hmm no, I'm not famous really. Well, I've been on rather interesting adventures. People just find me odd.

Games? What kind of games?

Oh, I wouldn't be so dismissive. Sometimes a rather interesting adventure and a reputation for being different is all it takes.

Nothing enjoyable. Not for us in any case, more for our mundanes.

Gandalf, Gimli and I are trapped in a place called Tower of Animus where it is claimed that our world has been destroyed.

And what would you call that constant look now and then out towards the Road?

[there's a word for it and it's "wistful". Or longing.]

Well I--[He frowns.] Can a hobbit not look at the road from the comfort of his own home? I just like looking, that's all.

I certainly do a have a reputation. [Not the one he wants certainly.] Sometimes I do wonder if my adventures were worth it...

What? Destroyed?! Unbelievable. And you allowed yourself to be trapped in such a world...

I don't believe it myself. Aragorn ensured my faith in that.

And I hardly allowed myself to be trapped. An elf, even the Thranduillion, has little power of his own mundane.

Then I suppose there is little hope for me.

Gandalf is with you? Is he alright?

At least, Master Hobbit, your mundane may be more lenient with where you are sent.

He is and he is quite alright. He's been forming a Fellowship, when last I saw him. Though, that was a few weeks ago. I know that he is still there, however.

Perhaps. I am hoping she will listen to reason.

He does have a habit of wandering off on his own. You will see him again soon enough.

I suppose you could just look. You seem to look so much though. Have you thought about taking a trip to Buckland or Tuckborough? You could do some catching up.

Nephew, if I ever leave my front door again, it'll certainly will not be a trip to Buckland nor Tuckborough. It will be a trip to Rivendell or perhaps the Misty Mountains--

[He sighs.] Is is that obvious? [Hiding his feelings is rather hard dearest nephew.]

[Frodo is trying to hold back the smile]

Well, I just thought you might be getting on in your years; you might prefer a trip closer to home.

Yes, I'm afraid you are a bit obvious. You forget to put away the maps half the time.

No, his writer remains. I have no seen him because I am subject to an experiment that he is not, discovering who runs this tower better: Dax, Riki or Jason.

A trip close to home? Bah. There's no challenge in that.

I guess once you've tasted adventure, it's hard not to go back for more. [He smiles.]

[He doesn't really understand what Legolas is going on about, but pretends that he does.]

It can be. I've met some wonderful people that aren't from Middle Earth but look like Elves.

No, I suppose not, but the challenge lies in whether you come back in one piece after a visit with either of those families.

[He's glad to see that Bilbo has not lost his desire to go out and have a challenge]

Did you have plans for one any time soon?

Some adventures aren't. For something to be truly worthwhile you must believe in the cause that started it.

Very true. I'd rather not take the chance and remain in one piece, thank you.

I do not. [Actually he does.] However, this writer of mine seems to have making plans for me.

[He raises an eyebrow.] Where are they from?

[theburglar]

Or learn from it as I did.

At last, I think we have found the one adventure you balk at.

Oh? And what sort of plans?
