A place called the facility. Basically constant testing every week in a scenario where I become the lab rat...along with everyone else stuck there. The place is run by a super computer named Val, or at least I gather as much.

I mean, It's nothing I dont think I can handle...but I never said it would be easy either. Seems a couple people we know are already there.

I know it doesn't look like it, but he's working harder than any of us. Half of which effort goes into not letting anyone see that.

And that may have been the case when we started. He's learned a few things since then.

[Tim looks up from annoyed lecture face, not surprised- but still slightly unprepared for that statement. He sighs and nods towards Dick]

[another pause as he tries to form the words.]

Maybe more just..optimistic. You know? Rather than unrealistic.

You of all people should know just how often people go ahead and actually do what was supposed to be unrealistic, right?

[AND less likely to make his ear drum bleed. Damn Bruce could yell when he wanted to. But They both knew that only meant he cared.....more? they guessed?...Tim just shrugged]


The general principle? The premise looks daunting, but I might be going out on a limb here when I say that our line of work and this place have a lot of things in common. Besides, since when is a torture facility supposed to be fun?

She *thumb over shoulder* has observed things happening there. Sure we're used to things not really letting up, but... still bad. And lacking the option to actually win the night and solve the case and lock up the bad guys.

*small smile* Well, you know me. I'll worry anyway. And the offer still stands. Call it a bat-pretense-at-sanity outlet.

I'll take you up on that if I go. Her activity goes up and down a lot because of school, but since it's summer she's been really good so..maybe.

On the other hand, where did you wind up in this ...muse/mun hell we seem to have been thrust into. Gotta say, still getting used to seeing double.

I ended up in a place that diverged from the main story a while back. Enough that Babs and I have a daughter, Lian is alive and raises hell with Garth's son - well, currently they're stuck elsewhere with Indigo, but that's Hypertime stuff... basically, what home would have been like if a lot of people had zigged instead of zagged, you know? So I have it easy.

Woah woah, back up. You have a kid? With Barbra?

Someone owes me money on that, somewhere.

[he wasn't going to even MENTION Kori at this point, he was too shocked. But as a bat family member, he had totally called Dick and Babs ending up..no matter how many hellish fights they managed to fall into.]

Yeah, uh... it took some help from the Amazons because of her paralysis. But it worked.

*quietly happy and proud about that, regardless of more recent developments which worry him sick. Ahem.

Shit happened on his and Kory's wedding - literally in the last possible moment. Then they... sort of drifted apart. He still knows his and Kory's daughter from an alternative reality, though.

... who, in her own world, is dating that world's version of Damian. No, Dick didn't exactly react enthusiastically to that one.*

[oh he knew about the ...wedding disaster, but he...well Tim wasn't sure what he wanted beyond Dick being happy. Seemed the Wayne curse to never end up with one girl permanently. He just smiled]

There is still stuff to fix. In that place, I was one of the Black Lanterns during the Blackest Night. Babs... let 'me' make her one of them, too.

But with both of us back alive, we'll work that out, somehow. I hope.

All of that is... well, not really out of range for home. So I probably don't need to explain much.

Jason went... a bit further off the reservation than usual and came after me. Long game. Bad long game. Arsenal was helping me track him down, and he circled us back to Bludhaven, which had rigged to blow.

Jason came to his senses, before the very end. *too late for Roy. And Babs was pretty badly off at that point, too...*

In the end, Raven had to fish all three of us back out of... wherever we ended up so we could do our best to stop the whole bad mess from that side. But that's... pretty much how I ended up as one, yeah.

And then shortly after that, all the Titans got scattered across Hypertime. Which is something that stuff can be done about, right?
