It will take more than just a human body and a few years of living among the people of Karakura town to convince those from other worlds that I am no longer the monster I once was. Do not expect me to show tolerance due to their ignorance, it is a poor excuse made by those incapable of gathering evidence.

Just ensure that I have gathered some means of defending myself before you force me enter this new world.

It is a city in Japan, also know as District 3600 if you are acquainted with the Shinigami who patrol the city.

[He falls silent at the mention of hollows. Eyes narrowing in suspicion before they roll slightly in disapproval.]

Only fools would be so bold as to try and encounter a hollow so openly.

It seems more a matter of my mundane having me run into them. I wouldn't choose to fight enemies I don't fully understand.

[Sabriel would rather not, but she's the Abhorsen and she's not going to let Dead run around if they're going to hurt anyone. When she speaks, her tone is calm and measured. Also wow, this guy might be paler than her]

That they are human souls that refused to pass on and have become monsters that consume others- in that, they are little different from the Dead of the Old Kingdom.

But these... 'Hollows' feed on the dead as well as the living.

[Silence. It is not something she should be a stranger to receiving from him. After all this time the subtle nuances of keeping up normal every day conversations still elude him.]

[The pause between his words is brief, his tone softer but still firm.]

Correct. Hollows at first are nothing more than trash, those that gain enough power may ascend to a higher state of being. All of them possess an insatiable hunger to devour the souls of both the living and the dead.

It is a Shinigami's job to hunt and cleanse these spirits, but it is also a Shinigami's job to ensure they are not created in the first place. The fact that hollows are created shows have they fail to complete the simplest of roles.

As a Abhorsen, do you posses the ability to cleanse spirits?

I possess the power to send the Dead of my world to beyond the Ninth Gate- where all who die must pass. My mundane claims to be uncertain how this would translate into worlds such as yours, although truthfully, the idea of souls being able to stay in the world of the living at all without stealing life seems strange.

It is highly unlikely that similarities will be anything more than coincidences. Hollows normally live in their world, it is known as Hueco Mundo and they do venture into the land of the living they search out the strongest source of spiritual energy closest to them. Living or dead, it matters not and they are consumed all the same. The method by which they take the energy is as you or I might partake of breakfast.

This Hueco Mundo... It wouldn't be some manner of river, would it?

[Sabriel does not want to talk about what happens to people the Dead get to in her world. It runs the gamut from "desanguinated" to "eaten" to "Look kind of dried out, and then they crumble into something like ash".]

[He admits flatly and without thinking. As he speaks it is her smile that his eyes focus on, but his gaze is no less intense. By now she knows of his past, the endless years he spent after he crawled out of that black pit and wandered the endless desert of Hueco Mundo.]

My writer is confident that you will approve of my dæmon's personality. She is...

[He pauses ... almost as if for once the word he wants to use is hard to put into words.]

[A statement which surely could mean a number of things coming from Ulquiorra. However, the tiny creature would indeed be the epitome of foolishness compared to his normal calm and collected behavior. His dæmon will embody everything about himself that he repressed and lost years ago.]

Hardly, the opposite in fact. It is an endless desert of white sand that stretches on forever and never sees the light of day. You survive there or be killed.

In that, at least, Death is the similar.

You will find that I can be quite approachable so long as it suits my interests and though you may forget, you will have the opportunity to ask again.

You mentioned the title, Abhorsen. What does this position entail?

( loneliness is something that she knows about all too well and the thought of anything being lonely doesn't settle well with you. )

I know, and so have I, but that doesn't mean that either of us have to be alone anymore.

( the smile on her face only wides more as he talks. it would be a lie if she said she wasn't happy to see him. she laughs a little when he says that his dæmon is foolish. )
