Poopsie, you know that I am eternally fond of you, just as you are aware of how repulsively content I am in my current surroundings——I daresay too content. I've the freedom to come and go as I please, am able to write what I wish, whenever I wish, entertain guests and pursue all those earthly pleasures for which a human body can quiver and ache when left untouched and unsated for so long. I do not quickly forget that for years before, I could only scratch my yearnings with ink to parchment. Now here I am, on a ship to nowhere, with no mother-in-law to infuriate, no emperor crying for my blood, no doctors to scandalize -- I'll come back to him momentarily.

I am a "free agent", as they say, and more than that, my eccentricities are generally accepted among my peers.

Why, I'm practically harmless!

I've taken a rather long road to arrive at my point, which is this: While I do not appreciate direct attempts to sabotage my place on this ship -- such as attempting to call that hypocrite of a doctor to the Barge -- I am bored.

We are going to write, and I'm giving you no choice in the matter, but I will allow you to pick the characters.
