Hello! Mun- er, I mean... Lady Mundane? I'm sorry, I never really asked you how I should refer to you. It just seemed like a strange question to ask, after all... It's not every day a random voice seems to pop into your head! Although, I suppose you would think that I'm in your head, hm? How very strange, I shouldn't really get bogged down in how this words, should I? Sorry.

Ah, and now I'm rambling... Here were everyone can see. [you're a derp Merrill, nothing new about that]

Anyway I promise I really did have a reason that I wanted to speak with you, Mundane. I really don't know if this is a good idea! Don't get me wrong, I'm very flattered that you've shown this kind of interest in me, it's very sweet of you! But don't you worry that you're biting off a little more than you can chew? After all, you have a hard time keeping up with your responsibilities as is, wouldn't bringing me to this castle make things even harder?

Oh, no no no, it's not that I wouldn't want to go! An ancient castle sounds quite strange, like something out of those human fairy-books. And the way you talk about it, it sounds like there are many people that I would enjoy getting to know. I just know that you're nervous about the idea, being connected to your head, you know...

Just think about it. It's important to be very serious when deciding important things, don't you think?

Sorry, I can't help it. Sometimes I just get so flustered over what I'm going to say next, and then the words just start coming out before I can really think about it.

I'm sure that must happen to some other people too, don't you think? But I only seem to meet people who are really good at speaking, and... I'm doing it again, aren't I?

The castle is a dangerous, capricious place, known for throwing the worst at us without a moment to ready ourselves. It's especially dangerous knowing that our impatient muns can give us issue at their leisure for their entertainment abusing the magic that coats this place.

Are you going to be able to handle it, rambling or not? Perhaps great strength lies hidden in you, beyond your words, and that is why your mun trusts herself sending you there.

Do they? I haven't met or heard about any other humans who do this sort of thing. Well! I suppose I have a lot to learn about them.

[ah... and as she pays more attention to the woman she's talking to, she gets that feeling... like she's talking to Keeper Marathari. Suddenly, she feels really rude and young] Oh, but I should say first, andaran atish’an. You're an elf, aren't you? But you don't seem to be one of the Dalish...

That's... not why I was rambling. I've been told this castle can be a dangerous place, and I promise I'm more than capable of looking after myself.

But I guess... thank you? If you were trying to cheer me up, that is. But I didn't really need cheering up, so you don't need to worry about that.

Le suilannon. I am an elf, but of a far different sort than you and, alas, I am unfamiliar with your tongue.

[She knows that word, though. "Dalish." She's heard it in a few of Fenris's rants.]

Oh, er, it's not all bad. I suppose some good things can be said about that place. You just have to be ready in case. And if you're as capable as you are talkative, perhaps it'll work out after all.

[One of her ears flicks though, perking up. Guess what words a drill instructor latches onto?]

Really? Of course, other worlds! My Mundane told me a little about it, but I didn't realize.

I only said a formal greeting, nothing really tricky. Honestly, even we Dalish don't speak a lot of the old language. Much of it was lost. But we just can't help but throw in those words that we do know. [that last sentence is said a little jokingly... but with a tint of sadness]

[there's a pause... aaaaah, right. She's been told a little that magic isn't really a thing, but it still feels weird to say]

I'm a mage, actually. And I'm not bad, if I say so myself. [haha, awkward laugh] I've still got a lot to learn, but I've been spending the last few years doing a lot of fighting.

Oh, n-not that I go looking for fights, mind you, we all just seem to wander into them a lot.

Doesn't stop fights from finding you or I, I'm afraid. I've not seen a mage elf in quite some time, though. Most I know are adept swordsmen, archers, assassins, or martial artists.

[Can you tell she likes this subject?]

Perhaps if you do show up, you could help us balance out the strengths I see amongst the elves here. Though adding a few pushups into your routine wouldn't hurt...

It seems elves of all kinds have a great love of speech. [She smiles, soft and slightly sad.] In my native language, the word for elf is "quendë." "Speaker," in the Common Tongue.

You know, I haven't met many other elf mages either! Are elves with magical power spread between clans in your world too?

If I do end up arriving, I would love to learn more of your culture and language. Even if we are elves from different worlds, knowledge should be shared and preserved, shouldn't it?

I could not agree more. One of the great privileges of such places is the opportunity to learn of things one would otherwise never know.

Oh, I'm already so excited! But I'm probably getting ahead of myself, my mundane hasn't made a decision yet...

But, if she does decide... what other sort of things are in this Paradisa? My Mundane only told me bits and pieces.

Magic is more spread across all races evenly, and more often abused than wielded with proper discipline.

[hmmm] Many people fear the same would be true in my world if magic was left unchecked.

W-Well, I don't know about how push ups would help my health really. But I do exercise, I make sure to walk around often, and I spend a good deal of time running? Would that achieve the same result, do you think?

I will not deceive you; it is not a safe place. We face dangers from the castle itself, from the land, and from others present there. But for each of those who would do us harm, there are as many who have gone to great lengths to protect and aid there fellows. [And something that she probably should know.] There are others of your world present, I believe.

Yes, I've heard that! Isabela and Fenris are both there, aren't they? Well... Fenris probably won't be too happy to see me, but it would be wonderful to spend time with Isabela.

[She merely nods in acknowledgement of the thanks.]

They are. I do not know Isabela well, but I daresay there are very Fenris would be pleased to see. [She's become strangely fond of him, though. It helps that she has the patience of a saint and just laughs off his anti-magic rants.]

He is a bit cranky, isn't he? [she sighs a little] I tried to befriend him, I really did try, but... Well, if the years have taught me anything, it's that he's not likely to change his mind any time soon.

Ah, I'm sorry. You probably don't want to hear about petty arguments.

[She shakes her head a little]

You must not judge him too harshly. He has been gravely wounded and still bears the scars, in body and soul. I, at least, would be glad of your company, even if he is not.

Ooh, I know. His life has been very hard, but... he still doesn't have a right to say some of the things he's said. [but she smiles at that last bit]
