Hey mun.

It's been a long time since we really talked, hasn't it? I'm really looking forward to playing again, though. Running around, learning, saving the day from...well, whatever it is there. This is some sort of horror thing? And I get to be normal for a bit? Huh, I think I kind of like that. That's what Mom always wanted, anyway.

Maybe we can use this to help figure out what both of us want.

Oh! OH! Is it Mayfield? You're going to Mayfield! Oh, you'll have to let me know how everyone there is. Although I don't know if any of my friends are still there.

Mayfield is pretty extreme for a therapy session. Not just in physical challenges.

Yeah, it's Mayfield, and I'll be happy to tell you how everyone is. It sounds like an interesting place. My mun's been hemming and hawing about it for quite some time, trying to figure out who the best person to bring out there would be. I'm kind of glad he chose me.

Well, my mun's never been one to do the easy stuff first, for some reason. I think he's kind of weird like that.

It can be a cruel place, so don't be surprised! But it's filled with fascinating people from all over the cosmos! And the technology there is incredible!

I've always liked meeting new people! And what kind of technology? Is it anything like my Aunt Bulma's?

Oh, just wait till you get an eyefull of the motorcars there. They're spectacular! And the household appliances. So many conveniences. I do sort of miss that. I wish I could have taken some home with me. Does your Aunt make things like that?

I don't know if you'll remember when you get there, but there is help available.

Well, kind of! I know her company made cars...and space ships. But their real claim to fame is the Capsule, which lets you store just about anything inside it at a really small size! She made me this costume, too!

They seem to have gathered a good number of guardians from different worlds, as well as healers of all types.

Not sure if that would be reassuring, considering what they've put us through.

From what I've always experienced, heros show up when they're needed. Maybe that's why I'm going there. It is nice to know that there's a good number of guardians there. Maybe I'll just be able to be a teenager for a little while...never really had a good chance to try that.

That was the terrifying and wonderful thing about arrival. Not having to watch what I did, because I was a baseline human. Terrifying, because I realized how much I rely on the abilities I had since as long as I can remember.

Wonderful, because I found I was capable and... well, loved without them, after all.

I think that I'll just be happy with people not looking back at me in fear when they see that I can fly, or flinching when I hold a hand out to shake. That's why I do the secret identity thing, most of the time. I'd rather people know Son Gohan as a normal person, rather than as a super hero.

That's something a ot of us have dropped in Mayfield. At home, hiding what I could do was second nature, because people who can't see the power flows don't realize the power to do those things has to come from somewhere. Here, it's a matter of comparing different schools of thought, and abilities. If it weren't for the horrors that happen and the inability to go home, it would be a great place.

It sounds like I'll really like it there, I think, even with the horrors. Even though I don't think that I'll remember this, I hope that we get a chance to meet. You seem like a pretty nice person.

Depending on where and when you land, I might be able to get the introduction to Mayfield information to you. I would say "welcome" but "commiserations" is more like it, depending on how close to a holiday event we are.

Well, hopefully it'll be soon! My mun doing these to make sure he's got a good feel for me, and from what he's telling me, I'm going to be hopefully housing with Dr. Doofenschmirtz. He's actually kind of nervous about a couple of things, but I think he's just being silly.

Oh, it's good that you have a rapport with your mun. Mine has a weird sens of humor, sometimes.

Oh, don't think that mine doesn't. He's already trying to convince me to be Booster Gold's sidekick. We have such a good rapport because, well, I was his first non-OC, and probably the one he wishes he could be the most like, though I never understand that. I'm nothing special.

Oh, ye jigs and juleps, Booster Gold? He doesn't need a side-kick so much as a keeper. Not a bad guy, just kinda clueless.

[Gohan laughs a little bit]
The same has been said for me. I mean, look at this. I figure its safe to show it off, since neither of us will end up remembering it, and because my mun thinks that it's the greatest thing ever.

[ She watches closely. ]

[Gohan presses a button on his watch, and a puff of smoke appears around him, when it clears, he's standing there in a green costume with a red cape, and a silly looking helmet]
I am...
[He strikes a vaguely sentai-like pose]
THE GREAT SAIYAMAN!
[There is a pause before he stands back up]
I mean, I do agree with my mun that this is the greatest thing ever, don't get me wrong, but it may be for different reasons.

[ooeeooahah]

[ She giggles, and nods ]

That's one way to do it...

[ She makes a complex gesture, and suddenly she's... not quite there. Very average, fairly plain, and if you had to describe her, there's no distinguishing characteristics to tell her being different from anyone else. ]

...another is not to be seen.

[ Then she's back to herself. ]

[Gohan presses the button, there's another puff of smoke, and he's back to his old clothes]
Huh! That was pretty cool. You'll have to show me how you do that, sometime.

Indeed my friend! Figuring out what you want is very important. It's a discovery we all have to make.

Yeah, it really is. I think that what I want to do is just read, learn, and be normal for a little while.

[A pause, then Gohan whispers]

If you can see how the power flows warp the perception, you might be able to pick it up in a few months. Probably not when you get there, right away.

That's some interesting work in the watch, though. How much of that is illusion, and how much of it is re-threading your clothes?

Oh? Are you quite sure? To look for normalcy tends to lead rather quickly to boredom, I've found.

[OOC: Hahahah yeah I was the Major at A-Kon's Animania! Who am I talkin' to?]

Well, if it involves Ki, I might be able to pick it up. Don't know about anything else, though. We'll have to see!

Actually, it uses Aunt Bulma's capsule technology. It actually holds the clothes in a really small size, and then switches them with what I'm wearing. Pretty nifty, right?

Yeah, but when you've lived the life I have...sometimes, a little normalcy's a nice thing.

[OOC: Lesse, I think the years you played I was Kamen Rider Blade for two, and the last year I was supposed to be Decade, but I couldn't make it]

Mmm. And yet, an overabundance of it can be quite...overwhelming. A bore, to be quite honest.

[OOC: Yeah! I don't think we ever properly met, but I remember you from my first year! Nice to talk to you!]

We might be able to adapt it to Ki, it'll just take some time.

That is some great tech, there - but be careful with it. We have some madboys in town that would love to see how it works.

[ The last bit is said with a fond inflection. ]

I'm not completely sure about that! After all, by reading, you can be taken to just about any world, just using your imagination, so I'm never bored.

[OOC: Yeah, I think I was really busy with my plot related things that year, so I didn't do too much interaction. Good hearing from you, my RL friends who play on Mayfield speak very highly of you. :) ]
