It is not the appropriate time to trouble yourself over the trivial matter. Let them speak of you however they wish. Do not let their words trouble you. I understand how you feel, as Mademoiselle Malebranche did something similar to me. I preferred to focus on something else whenever she felt up to it, and fortunately it helped preventing her from corrupting my mind.
