A curious purpose you have, mun. You speak of Elves and castles, magic and things I have read about as a child. My presence is elsewhere promised. There is little time for many things, and my father requests that I ride to Osgiliath... to whatever end.

Perhaps it would be kinder, to be whisked away to some land of magic, but my heart would be elsewhere.

I am sure there are many, but I would not wish to abandon my task.

Death comes to us all, eventually. It presses on my home from many sides. If my men and I can make even the smallest dent in our enemy's forces, then we must do what we can.

You have my sympathy. Death in itself may not be admirable, but the life that precedes it may be so.

I hope that mine is, in that case~ I know that I personally have been enjoying it.

In Gondor, my lady. Dark things trickle from Mordor with each passing day, threatening the very foundations of Minas Tirith.

It seems there is no end to this darkness.

All things pass. I do not think this darkness is an exception to that.

Is it not? It has all but consumed those in its path - be they in Minas Tirith or in Edoras. Perhaps even beyond the world of Men.

Men still stand. As long as there are those able and willing to defend, it will not endure. It is no easy task, and hope is a difficult thing in these times, but I do not think all is lost just yet.
