You can't be nervous.
Why?
Because I'm nervous, that's why! What if he was just yanking our chain? What if I get all excited and just end up twiddling my thumbs and getting sympathetic looks from the wait staff. Yeah, sure, it's better then getting ambushed and beaten to a pulp before being left to be humiliated, but only by a little.
I say we just...wait. See if he even shows up before either of us are allowed to get nervous.
Also, what do you mean you 'wish they'd gone into more detail' about my drug addiction?!? It's a drug addiction. I'm sure your twisted excuse of a mental process can fill in the blanks easily enough.
...you know, I've helped catch a lot of unsubs that thought a lot like you do. Think about that for a minute.
