On news of the upcoming Gilmore variety
Yes.
That's really all I should need to say, and you should know for someone like me anything monosyllabic or with less than acerbic wit is difficult at best.
I know, you really don't want me to go on and on, which I do. Mostly with purpose though, you have to admit I am very purposeful in my banter. Bantering with direction and caffeine, it's how I fuel my quest for world domination.
So, with all that out of the way, would it be too much to ask that either mom and I have come to terms or she can maybe skip off entirely? Maybe an 18 year around the world cruise? In fact that might just be the best thing, except whew, those poor servers on the ship. She could go through an entire rotation in three months.
Work on that, huh?

Firstly, the Gilmore way is to ease into the criticism like; hey Lorelai, you look beautiful today. Why thank you Luke, you look ruggedly handsome as well.
Then you go for the throat about failure, clothing choices or coffee consumption.
Three

I would've figured five at least.

If it helps, I don't think your parents are gonna be around here.

And seeing dad would be weird, but good. He missed a lot, you know?

Yeah, that's going to be rough. I'm sorry.

[she nodded and leaned her head on his shoulder.]
He was a good man, like you. More WASPy, but yeah, like you.
I found Paris here, and you, so Rory has to be here, unless this is hell. But if it was hell there would be Paris and mom but no you. And no coffee.

[But he smiled a little when she leaned into him, and he put his arm around her.]
Thanks. I think he liked me - not as much as Christopher, of course, but yeah.
I'm pretty sure it would be hell for you without Rory and coffee here. Fortunately, I can provide that addicting drink for you, even if it's turning your insides into mush. I'm sure Rory will turn up sooner or later, you two being as inseparable as you are.

[That's more like it, she curled up to his side in that perfect fit he always seemed to be, and sighed a bit happily.]
So this is why I keep you around. Well this and that whole love thing. You and coffee make my day brighter. Just never ask me to choose, it'll be brutal for everyone.

[Luke wouldn't have easily admitted to being a fan of cuddling, but it's obvious he doesn't mind with Lorelei. He can only hope this is exactly what they're doing when the crew comes back around on this 'netflix' thing.
He smirks lightly.]
Well I've already dealt with your crazy coffee addiction this long, I don't think it's gonna be a problem in the future.
[Because this, with her? That was the only future that made sense to him.]

[It might have taken a while and had a few missteps along the way, but it had been inevitable. Luke had always been the one, they just had to get to the right place and time for them. She wouldn't change him for the world.]
Yes and you have done so admirably, you should get a medal or some sort of formal declaration, or a nice home cooked meal. Which you would have to cook because we both know it's a bad idea to let me use that thing in the kitchen that gets hot.
