Easy fix? You think that was easy? Okay, mun, what mass extinction by a rather large alien population were you watching? Because stopping that - not easy! Quite the opposite, actually. But we were good.
I could've told you the aliens would be coming back, it was a scientific probability. Those odds were always against us. But we do now, as you say, have better technology, so I'm sure this time it will be 'easy.' After all, I must be some technical wizard. Not that I wasn't before, but I've gotta be a genius in this new world now.
...and old, yes, thank you for reminding me. That's what happens when twenty years go by. At least I'll still have my hair, gray or not. Who knows, maybe Mr. President himself will be bald now. Wouldn't that be, ah, funny?
