Has anybody ever told you you're pretty handsome?

[He's just going to ignore that this guy sounds eerily similar to Huey.]

Plenty of ladies sure have. [HUGE GRIN.]

Say, what's your recruitment strategy there? I've been trying to come up with one lately, but no dice yet. We don't want to risk our image as off-the-grid hardasses, but we still need to appeal to them somehow. Something sensitive, with feeling.

[a pause, and his expression drops to thoughtful]
Say... what about making Peace Day an annual thing and using that to set ourselves apart?
Not telling people that we're fighting for peace, we don't fight for anything other than those who hire us. It'd be more of showing a universal desire as human beings. That because war exists, we can't help but hope for peace, even if its presence would be directly contradictory to our own ability to survive.

Although, the Mess Hall does do a pretty good job at keeping morale up.

Have you tried spreading the word through the internet beyond this place? I hear tumblr is all the rage these days, but there are some muns that would rather play journal-based, and I'd bet mine is not the only one.

Journal-based, huh? Could you tell me more about that? I'm interested. [So is mun.]
Hope you don't mind the TL;DR then :')
[Getting into exposition-mode] It's called "journal-based" roleplaying in this kind of platform. It used to be the most popular way for online roleplaying until the Great Fall of Livejournal, starting 2009. Bad management mostly killed off this kind of rp style, despite the rise of several similar sites with a better administration.
But the internet and its inhabitants aren't forces to be so easily stoppped. And so, nowadays, most of people prefer tumblr. But my mun dislikes tumblr-based roleplaying, and also forum-based roleplaying, which is even older. Both of them offer poor versatility for "threading" compared to "journal-based" roleplaying.
It'd be certainly nice to see a Renaissance. Specially for the characters of our universe.
Of course not. ^^
Then the same mun would link that post onto the community page.
And then anyone who wants to respond to the scenario does so in the mun's character journal.
Am I following you correctly?

Some communities would encourage to keep the thread in the same place, with a members-only lock, and others asked the players to roleplay their, ahem, more private interactions in the character journals, with a members-only locked link to the main community.
[Would you like to save?]no subject
Member-Only locks is a must for sex, violence, and other sensitive topics in the comm, too.
Maybe I didn't write the profile as well as I thought... [Scratches his chin.]
[SAVING IS FOR THE WEAK.]no subject
And indeed, I was talking more of how a lot of players would rather play in a comm than in tumblr. As far as I've seen, there are several people from our universe going around here. Maybe it's time we all moved into a more permanent home. [He-- kind of knows you used to be with BB, yanno. But Dave has always talked fondly of you, so he guesses you're alright.]
no subject
Permanent home, huh? We can definitely accommodate that at Mother Base.
[As far as Miller knows, Hal is just a voice similar to Huey's. He doesn't have too much of an opinion yet, except that the other man seems to know some good intel.]

[Please don't tell that about his father to his face
or do it, since getting compared to him is one of the few things that can change Hal's good disposition into Pure Salt.]no subject
[Miller can make no promises as of this time. Try again later.]

It's a banner, to help you promote the game. She says: "Sorry for taking the liberty to do this, I just didn't see a banner back at the profile, and it's easier to lure people in with something visual". [Glassespush, and Hal looks away.] Honestly, she should have let me handle it, she's hopeless at Photoshop...

[Mun says ty. :)]

[Mun says "it was no problem <3, and also, you should unlock the OOC comm so people can take a look to the map and how to app before they press the "join in" button." :3]
