In the past..several weeks..

My daughter and niece were kidnapped-after being trapped in a death match
My entire squad was slaughtered,
Johnny nearly died.
Was forced to fight off possessed daughter and niece
We nearly bleed to death for some fucking fake ritual.
was possessed by blood magic
Then nearly killed off the same people sent in as a rescue squad..

And you wonder why I'm wanting a vacation?

[Seems like an average week to me]

Your point being?
I draw limits at my family being threatened, you know. All's said and done, I'd just like to spend a few days with them-shocking, I know. Maybe crash Johnny's condo for a few days, stream bad 80s action movies-hang out at the beach that's just a few feet away. Really, I'm a low maintenance sort of woman.

More than one..I should. Could think of a lot of reasons why I couldn't, but right now, but right now a vacation sounds really really awesome.

Large tasks may become tedious after a while.

[It's something that Conan is more than aware of. Fight a few wizards, sail around as a pirate for a while, usurp some kings and call it a day. Really, a weekend would be nice every once and a while.]

It's not the tedium, [Well, it is, but only a small margin.] but the fact that I've spent years trying to keep my family safe-and it nearly goes to waste within the span of several weeks.

I just need a few days to catch my breath and remember who I'm fighting for.

Keeping a family safe is a constant challenge, and even when you believe they are without danger something else may surprise you. [His tone echoed with the sounds of experience in the matter. Though not necessarily with keeping his family safe, in fact he's certain that most of his family are dead by now.]

But finding rest in between is not such a bad thing either.

That's how this started in the first place. [Cassie running away would've only been a nuisance: she knew well enough where she would go. Only thanks to the fucking black dragon that things went down the toilet.]

I'm commander of a military division. Finding someone to delegate duties while I'm away is tricky..right now though it's really needed.

I know of that too. I still have the memos in a file from the junior officers-they got a total laugh out of it all.

Those in charge of PR just got headaches. [One of the benefits of being a general is that she's no longer a junior officer: ie a glorified babysitter]
