I won't, honestly! I almost never bite anyone. [ He plays with his hair a bit, trying to look as innocent as possible though there's no helping he just looks like a vampire. ]

[So he is a vampire - and one without Serana's level of self-control. Still, he can't bring himself to treat this one like the rogue vampires he's run across in Skyrim when he acts so differently from them.]

Does it take more than a bite from you to turn them, then?

[He's presuming, based on the vampire lore he's familiar with, that 'bite' here just means 'take enough blood to maybe make them dizzy and sleepy.']

[ Austin is a very different kind of vampire, self-control is something he tries to work on, and it's probably obvious from the way he's looking at the human. ]

It depends on how much blood I take... I don't like being too messy. [ Can't have blood on those polkadot drainpipes! He smiles brightly. ]

Do you know other vampires?

[It is fairly obvious, yes. And it's that, along with his statement that he'd rather go shopping with a human than bite them, that has him acting moderately friendly right now.]

Just the one, really - my friend Serana. [He doesn't expect the name to be familiar. He's been around here long enough to grasp the 'different universes' concept.]

[ He'd just like someone to have fun with, to make a friend, a friend he's allowed to bite from time to time would definitely be a welcome bonus, though. ]

You're not scared of me, then~? [ Such a strange human! ]

[How human is a man, really, when his soul is that of a dragon? It would be an interesting philosophical question, if he cared at all about philosophy.]

No, I'm not. [And he reaches out to ruffle Austin's hair, as if to prove it.]

[Granted, he's mostly not afraid because he's had plenty of experience dealing with hostile vampires. It would feel rude to come out and say that so bluntly, though.]

[ Austin's hair isn't made for ruffling, he put so much product in there that it stays the way Vanyel ruffled it... he leans in to the touch, though. Vampires don't get pet very often. ]

You're really brave! I could bite you, you know... though I promised I wouldn't bite anyone. You're lucky~ [ He fidgets with one of his sleeves. ]

[Whoops, he didn't even think about that; they don't have much in the way of hair products in Skyrim. About the best they have is bear fat. Since Austin doesn't seem to mind at all being touched, he'll try and put it back to rights.]

I would be able to heal myself. [That's not a boast, either, just a simple statement of fact. He says it a bit distractedly, even, since he's a bit preoccupied with the vampire's hair.]

[He's such a tactile person himself, and so used to Serana allowing it, that it didn't even occur to him that another vampire might not.]

That... does sound like fun, kind of.

[Vampire? Meet vampire.]

Maybe you can even host a sleep over one night for your guests.

[ Austin uses a combination of several products to create the desired effect, and there's some backcombing involved as well, but he likes having his hair played with so he'll just sit quietly. ]

Really? So if I bit you... you wouldn't die, not even if I drank a lot? [ It's so tempting now. Despite Austin's colorful appearance and friendly manner he's a little on the feral side, he tends to get carried away. ]

Right? And I could do your hair... you'll look like a model once I'm done with you!

[ Another vampire? Austin never really met another vampire before, once or twice yes but never in an actual conversation. ]

You know, I should! Are you... are you coming? [ Austin barely suppresses a giggle. ]

Most likely not. [Traveling with an honor before reason type means you learn healing spells pretty damn quick.] But didn't you promise that you wouldn't?

[It's asked calmly enough, more as a reminder than because he's all that scared of getting bitten.]

Oh... I did. But I get thirsty too. [ Austin smiles and leans in a little closer, he deserves to bite him... doesn't he? Instead of giving in just yet he sniffs at Vanyel's throat. ]

[He doesn't show any fear, even of that. Doesn't step away.]

I may not be the best choice for a meal. [The warning is more for Austin's sake than his own, frankly. Because he's not entirely sure what the dragon-in-human-form business means for his blood.]

[Certainly Serana never seemed tempted to bite him; possibly because there's enough dragon in him that he doesn't smell like food.]

Why not? [ Austin decides to sit a little away from him on a bench nearby, pulling his knees to his chest and watching intently. Then, he smiles wider, showing those distinctive teeth. ]

Are you just saying that so I won't bite you?

I'd rather you didn't, admittedly, but that isn't why. [At least, not entirely.] I'm Dragonborn, and I don't know what effect that will have had on my blood.

[ He shakes his head. ] No.

I do not like spending the night with people. [ He looked at Austin. ] Or anyone else's company.

Oh. [ Though Austin has no idea what 'Dragonborn' means, he knows better than to mess with unusual blood... instead, he moves a little closer. ]

Even though I can't bite you, I'll still let you play with my hair. [ So generous! ]

Ohh. Are you one of those really shy people? What happens if I touch your hand, really... softly? [ Pat! Though Austin has his shy moments, he loves pestering people too much to be solitary. ]

How very generous, thank you. [He manages to keep a straight face as he says it. Vampire or no, Austin really is rather adorable.]

I don't let just anyone touch my hair, you know. You're really special... like the chosen one or something! [ He giggles. ]

Do you like to go shopping? [ Maybe they could go shopping! Yeah, Austin's not very good at this reading people thing. ]

[The chosen one remark gets a smile out of him - if you only knew, lad.] Is that so? I'm honored, then.

[As to the question of shopping...] There aren't very many good shops where I live, I'm afraid. [Which is probably a very good thing for his coinpurse. And his children.] But provided the selection is decent, I do enjoy it.

You should come shopping with me... I'll buy you some nicer clothes! [ Or, well, Austin's idea of 'nice clothes' which is a strange combination of colorful, glittery and goth; not something that should exist. But he does manage to pull it off. ]

Maybe shorts... or a fancy hat.

[He manages to pull it off, certainly, but Van's not so certain he would.]

I wouldn't mind a hat. [He allows. He might even look rather dashing!]

It'll be fun... you'll look great in a hat! Or skinny jeans. Do- do you know what those are?

[ Austin only knows because he tries to read as much fashion magazines as he can. He recently purchased a black polkadot pair that he refuses to take off. ]

[Well, he knows what "skinny" means. But denim hasn't been invented yet where he comes from.]

Ah... are those skinny jeans?

[As he points to the pants Austin is wearing.]

They're amazing, right? [ Austin gets up and turns around so they can be admired properly, they're very tight and don't hide much. It helps that he's tiny. ]

You should get a pair... maybe green ones! Or red.

[They certainly don't. He hadn't realized it was possible to get less modest than going sans culottes under a fur kilt, and yet...]

Dark red, perhaps. Green's never been my color. [No, cool colors always seem to clash with, well... everything about him, skin tone included.]

[ They're probably pretty risque in Vanyel's eyes, though Austin really only wears them because they're so stylish. ]

Dark red? But that'd look like you spilled blood on them~ That's unfair!

[He's a follower of Dibella, they're pretty liberal and fairly hard to shock... but those pants are definitely an eyebrow-raiser.]

Perhaps so. But I'm afraid bright colors never suited me overmuch, either. [Bright colors were exclusively the domain of the idle rich who could afford such bold dyes, more like. He may be titled now, but that doesn't mean he wants to go out of his way to identify with the landed gentry.]

But life is so boring when you can't wear bright colors... most vampires only wear black. [ He wiggles his legs a bit before glancing over curiously. ]

...I'm still hungry. What'd you think will happen if I bite you? [ Austin is moving closer again, until he's nearly on his lap. Why does this man look so tasty if he can't even bite him? ]

I think that must be a rule for vampires in all universes. Even Serana wears mostly black. [He's seen vampiric armor with more of a reddish tint to it, but hers is black leather. The shirt she wears underneath is red, but that's the only color she wears.]

I don't know. I don't even know for sure that anything would. [If he's at all startled or bothered by having the vampire practically in his lap, he certainly doesn't show it.]

Maybe... maybe I should just try. [ Austin wonders why Serena never bit him, but then, some vampires have far more self-control than he does. He just really really wants to bite him, though he promised he wouldn't. ]

A little nibble? [ He lowers his eyes, a little guilty perhaps. Maybe he could take a drink from his wrist? He moves even closer and then he's definitely sitting on his lap. Enjoy your lap vampire. ]

[She did once mention that vampires like her considered biting an intimate gesture - one which he rejected when he asked to be Soul Trapped rather than turned to enter the Soul Cairn. Perhaps she assumed from that he'd never want her to take so much as a nibble.]

Maybe so. [The shift into his lap sees him looking surprised for a moment, before he shrugs and tilts his head to offer Austin better access to his neck.]

[ Austin usually bites when he's hungry, though for some reason he's always a little more keen to bite handsome male victims. He almost inmediately sinks his fangs it, they're a bit longer when they're on full display but it is no more painful than a needle entering one's skin... though it's best that Vanyel keeps his wits about him because Austin almost can't stop once he's drawing blood.

The effects are obvious, his blue eyes glinster with pleasure and his pale cheeks gain a healthy glow, it's most clearly intimate, or pleasurable, to the vampire. ]

[A hand settles on the back of Austin's head as he bites in, and Vanyel's brow furrows at the sensation - not pleasant, but not yet crossing the line into genuine pain, either. It's just strange.]

[And yes, he certainly will be keeping his wits about him. Pleasant as Austin's been, Vanyel could guess from the start that he didn't have Serana's impressive control. Or enough feeling for Vanyel one way or another to temper his hunger, most likely.]

I’m not shy. [ No surprise jump movements from him, no sudden throwing Austin ten feet off him, Zeke stands completely still. ] I am just really quiet.

[ Austin closes his eyes, drinking as much as Vanyel will allow him... make no mistake, he'd drain him if he let him do so. He never wants to kill anyone, especially not someone he quite likes, but his instincts are much too strong.

Vanyel should probably either pull him away or grab him by his hair or something, that'll definitely make him stop. ]

That's alright... I talk too much, I think. Sometimes annoy people. [ Austin also likes clinging onto people and poking them... it's terrible. He's very friendly for a vampire. ]

...you're not human, are you?

[When he starts to feel lightheaded, that hand on Austin's head curls into his hair and he gives a firm but hopefully painless tug.] That's enough, I think.

[ Austin pouts at him once he realizes that he has to stop... he does feel a lot less hungry now, though. ] Okay~

But I'll get to bite you again tomorrow, won't I? [ He does look a lot healthier and a little dizzy, he drank a lot of blood at once and feels really good now. ]

[Once Austin has backed away some, he'll raise a hand to his neck to cast a healing spell. Both that hand and the wound are bathed in golden light for a few moments, then he lets his hand drop to reveal a neck that looks entirely unbitten.]

If we see each other again tomorrow, I don't see why not.

You probably don't want to see me anymore... right? [ Austin isn't used to his 'victims' behaving so calmly and despite that, he figures Vanyel doesn't really want to be bitten again, he's just being polite. ]

...sorry I had to- to bite you. That always happens.

It's alright, no harm done. See? [He gestures to his neck, which no longer has a mark on it. Which isn't precisely true; he does still feel... drained. But he has potions that can fix that.]

I wouldn't mind seeing you again. I just don't know if I'll be here [he gestures to their surroundings] from one day to the next.

[ Even Zeke agrees Austin is too friendly for a vampire. ]

No I am not. [ He exhales. ] I was once, though.

[ A human some many years ago. ]
