properly voice-testing. are revelations 2 spoilers still a thing?

Well, what have we here? Another little guinea pig to test my experiments on? You know, I'm really quite relieved. I was starting to worry that I'd end up short. They just don't last as long as they used to. [And here, Alex expels a mockingly burdened sigh, as if she doesn't enjoy watching her lab rats run around like panicked rodents until they inevitably get themselves killed.]

And this one even has a healthy level of admiration for me this time. I like that. However, the question becomes... are you worthy of my time, little guinea pig?

[Very slowly and very subtly, Alex's demeanor starts to change as the subject of transcendence, of shedding her illness, of truly being a God reaches her ears. An indication that she'll get an opportunity for all of that in earnest here. She won't have to suffer the fate of becoming a hideous monstrosity or of Natalia seemingly rejecting her. Her eyes narrow, her red lips pulling into a thin line. The levity of her tone is not gone, but even with such a small shift in expression, she manages to give a glare that could almost melt the skin off someone's bones.] You know... I don't like it when people try to play games with me. Do you know what happens to those people, my dear? [A small upturn of her lips makes that look on her face even more vicious.] Oh-- you're not afraid?

[A cold laugh follows-- and only now does her tone drop its levity in exchange for a calm snarl:] You should be.

Sometimes, the resemblance really is uncanny.

[He says in passing, obviously meaning the resemblance between Alex and Albert. And this is coming from a dude that literally shares a face with someone.]

In fairness, I'm not sure anyone can throw as many tables as he does.

[In fact, Vergil gets the feeling that if there was a machine built solely to throw tables, Wesker would still outdo it in a matter of minutes.]

I can only imagine what that's like.

[He can't count how many times he's had to re-order things, or call in window repairmen, or pay medical bills and hush money for the window repairmen that have come in, only to have glass embedded in some part of their person because someone gave him a response he didn't like.

Still, it's evident in the entertained undertone of his words that Vergil enjoys jabbing at Albert too. It's pretty much his favorite way to pass the time -- mostly because it's always an even playing field. Albert jabs at him every bit as much (and is probably even doing so now, since Vergil is as sure as Alex is that he's not only around, but listening).]

It's really only a matter of time before I'll have to start installing aquarium glass in his office.

It's always interesting to see the differences in the way you two run things. Even with such stark contrasts, you both manage to get the most out of your employees.

I respect that.

[Even if Vergil could never run things the way that they do. While the Wesker siblings both make a habit of deception, Vergil prefers the straightforward approach in everything he does. From a logical perspective, he sees the merit in both of their methods of manipulation, and he's long since made peace with the fact that his code of honor differs greatly from the family he's unwittingly become a part of. How they treat their employees and run their respective bases is none of his business; the only thing he's concerned with is that he isn't being manipulated.

Thankfully, Vergil is good at reading people. He can tell when someone is trying to pull the wool over his eyes, no matter how nice they're being about it. He's relatively sure that one of the main reasons that Albert puts up with him is because he doesn't let anyone bewitch him. Even though he's clearly attracted to Umbrella's chairman, it doesn't compromise his ability to stand up to his partner if he's being ridiculous.

As much as he's come to genuinely enjoy the company his self-proclaimed "sister-in-law", he's definitely much more suited to work with someone like Albert. For all his outbursts, Vergil likes that he's up front about his expectations of people. Still, Alex's methods have sincerely impressed him more than once during the time that he's known her. He's never known anyone as good as she is at playing people. She effortlessly makes Regina George look like Mother Teresa, and it's one of the most fascinating things to watch.

In response to her assessment, he sighs.]

You have no idea. Do you know that I'm using one of our warehouses just to store extra tables because he breaks them so often?

I need to find a spell that will make them resistant to force. Can you even imagine how furious that would make him?

[He can't hide a grin at the thought of Albert getting SUPER MAD THAT SOMETHING ISN'T SNAPPING IN HALF LIKE HE TOLD IT TO. That would be so priceless. He also may or may not think that Albert is weirdly endearing when he's angry, which may or may not be one of the main reasons that he antagonizes him so much.]
