Look, I know you think this is a good idea, but I know a bandwagon when I see one, and this is definitely a bandwagon.

Especially because what are you really going to do with me? Because we both know how you feel about games, and sure, letting the O.G. Rex out of her cage saved all our lives, but the island's hers now and I'm sure as hell not going back.

[That was only a good idea if there were two flares involved -- one to lure her back inside would be nice, but the same could be --nah there's no saving that park. Maybe the next generation will have forgotten everything and they can try again.

She just straightens her posture, acknowledging her given name. It's something she's heard enough to recognize it as a special, personal moniker. Nothing particularly hostile to be concerned about....yet.]

[Okay, so it could have been better-executed. And someone's always going to try again, that's just how this works]

Hey, you probably can't understand a word I'm saying [keeping his voice steady and calm] but thanks. You helped get us out of there too.

Her nostrils flex a bit; human speech isn't something she's able to decipher, no; feelings, gestures are easier to comprehend. She steps in closer, then looks all about, here and there, as if concerned about oncoming traffic.

That whole thing with dramatically parting ways, yeah, this guy's her last remaining packmate. Talk about confusing. The only thing that's left to do is beat T-Rex into submission, but being part of a team complicates things. It's not to say she's been rendered helpless, but uh, talk about lost.]

Hey, hey, it's okay. [He recognizes that movement at least] Just you and me now. [Which is totally not a thing he ever thought he'd be saying, let alone to a raptor.]

There's something vastly different in interacting this way. Something vastly less-demeaning, leaving Blue with little to fuss about. Except that they can't quite communicate as well as a pack ought to.

And that Mr. Alpha needs a decidedly loud, vaguely sinister-looking wheely machine to keep up with her. At least she's already acclimated to that.

But even amongst one another, raptors aren't the gentlest of dinos. If she's allowed near enough, Blue's gonna go ahead and attempt to nudge him over -- like, knock him down, merely though pressing weight into his shoulder with her muzzle. It's a quick motion, probably enough to spur some grays...]

HEY! [he's actually going to just... stand his ground, because even though he can't play the headbutt game, since she's got at least a couple hundred pounds on him, and she's definitely faster than he is, she's still just the second in command.]

[~~Absolutely same...I remember going to see it as an incentive for getting a physical for school...fairly sure I loved it at the time. The movie, not the physical. Never the physical.~~

The outburst prompts a shrill of sorts. Just to counter the noise. There's something incredibly twisted about falling second behind something you outweigh and out...goddamn strength in every category. She snaps her jaws once, twice, primarily as a means of noisemaking...backtalking. He totally started this.

At least she's finished pressing weight to his shoulder, defaulting to just kinda looking at him as if he were doing something far more intricate than standing there, shunning her advances. She looks a bit like a cockatoo with her head tilted to one side, regarding him with a single eye.]

Hey now, easy. [How is this his life? Seriously.] You're okay Blue. [And he just sloooowly moves a hand, making sure she can see it as he reaches in to pat at her jaw and neck now that she's not trying to bowl him over.] Attagirl.

It doesn't seem like there's much to go back to, anyway.

That too, no reason to go back.

Which obviously leaves going forward, but hard to say what that means with this one.

I don't know about you, but I'm thinking the safety in numbers concept is a good model to follow. For the time being.

It was my nephew, really. He said something along the lines of needing more teeth than what the Indominus had and, well - you know the rest.

He's a smart kid. But you're the one who knew the flare would work.

She seems alright with this -- neither leaning into nor tilting away from the touch (or snapping at his fingers, thankfully). Her head does go idle, just watching him in anticipation.]

Although I had the very strong impression that failure wasn't really an option. [ her mouth quirks wryly. ]

Attagirl, Blue. [See that big dumb grin, Blue? Yeah, he knows you're super-dangerous and all, but you're still his best girl.]

Oh, that's such a bad idea. Doesn't he know truces don't work so well long-term for them? She's probably hungry, irritable, and she's definitely tasted human flesh before. That's a whopping three strikes for him.

Unless he's suggesting they comfortably live side by side with her from this point on. Her eyesight's bad, but it's not that bad.

Nooot that she even knows what he's saying. Maybe if he managed to nag some tailskin? A tooth? A tooth probably wouldn't work as well. In the meantime, she's going to do something akin to yawning.]

[ not that she understands most of what he's saying - whatever owen goes on about is a cluster of meaningless sounds, but the voice is familiar enough. looking decidedly whole after her encounter with the business end of a rocket launcher is charlie, none the worse for wear, a curious tilt to her head. ]

If we're lucky, not within our lifetimes.
