Voice testing - Canon is TellTale's 'The Walking Dead'
Your name's 'Mun', right..?
Okay, well - This doesn't look too difficult, so stop worrying - just take it slow, and you'll be fine. I'm not really sure what you want me to do now I'm here, if that's even how this all works...
...I should probably find some people I know; being alone was risky enough before. But I guess you're the one who can make that happen, huh?

Max just sits down where he is and cocks his head, watching her.]

Hey there..
[With a quick glance around for the owner]
Who're you with, boy..?

After a pause, she reaches out her hand for him - whether he comes or goes, she doesn't know, but it's worth a try, right?]
C'mere, boy - it's okay. I won't hurt you
no subject
When she extends her hand, he immediately stands and pads the short distance to sniff. He sits quietly again, the perfect picture of a well-trained dog.]

Still, she moves cautiously as she goes to pet him]
There you go..no surprises, okay?

Albeit curious, she's also shocked that someone would hurt an animal so badly, if it was a person that did it at all. Taking her hand back a moment, she pushes up her left sleeve, revealing a scar of her own; a bite wound from a dog attack, punctuated by crude stitching marks. They're faded, but unmissable nonetheless.]
I guess we match, huh?
[Tugging her sleeve back down, she crouches in front of the dog, and goes back to petting him]
I'll bet someone's looking for you, boy. I know I would be.

Once she's face-level with him, he leans in and licks her nose. Humans, especially kids, like that cute stuff.]
super late but I couldn't resist
[Guess who's warm, dry, and sitting his ass down on the nearest log? He offers her a smile as he settles. One that reaches his eyes and crinkles the corners, which is more than can be said of many of his smiles these days.]
Jus'... talk things out with your mun. Unless yours is beyond all reasonin', then you should be able to work out whatever's on your mind.
hey, better lake than never amirite - 1/2
[WHAT]
2/2 I have no icons of her smiling properly I'm sorry. S2 was a dick to babygirl.
[Yeah, you're getting the hug of your freaking life. (Second life? After life? PDS life? idfk)]

Been around for a while... since September her time, I think it was. S'always good to see you, kid.
[He looks a little different than she'll remember. The luxuriousness and abundance that defines Capitol life means he has access to running water and food and clean clothes. Well, barring the weeks at a time he spends trapped in arenas fraught with cruel and unusual hazards and other Tributes looking to run him through with knives. But even machete-less, in plaid and jeans, and with hair that has finally seen a comb for the first time in years, he's still the same Luke as he ever was. And she always puts a smile on his face -- even if he can't always remember how to smile.]

[At first, she's not sure what else to say to him; she's just relieved to get to see him again. But it's surreal, to say the least. A familiar face is something she hasn't seen for a while, and she's certainly missed this particular one.
Eventually, she does pull away, swallowing down the rapidly forming lump in her throat.]
You look...different. Kind of...cleaner
no subject
Sorry this took a little while!
Are you in a game somewhere?
[That'd explain why he looks so well-fed and well...bathed.]
no worries!
Yeah.
[His expression sobers, brows knitting.] S'called The Games. A few a' us've shown up over the last couple months. I jus'... I never thought I'd ever get the chance to see some a' them again... I mean, like they used to be. Y'know? [His lips pinch.] But it ain't that simple. Guess there's always a catch these days.
no subject
..What sort of a place is it?
[It's literally called 'The Games' - how bad can it be?]
no subject
It ain't anywhere you should be, kid, that's for sure. Haven't seen hide or hair of a lurker, but they ain't the worst things out there. Not by a long shot.
no subject
Worse than walkers..?
no subject
Sorry this took a while! Been shattered from work
[That still leaves the question, though..]
..What kind of place are you in? What're worse than walkers?
[Don't make her worry about you, boy :( ]
no worries, man!
'S'like a cage. A pretty one. But dressin' it up don' change the fact that what the government 'round here does to people ain't right. Every once in a while they round up jus' about every man, woman, an' kid out there an' force 'em to go around killin' each other for sport with cameras all around, watchin' everything. Somebody says somethin', anythin' they don' like, an' they're taken away. Come back... diff'rent.
[A pause. He's seen kids with thick, shiny brand-scars across their faces.]
...'S'folks like that -- like Carver was -- who're always gonna be more dangerous than walkers.
