I don't really see the similarities. From what I've been told you just... cracked. Kuvira didn't really do that.

And if you did go through something like that, I'm sorry. I don't actually know because I wasn't there. But... no one should have to go through that kind of torment.

Exactly. I do not see how someone of my lineage could have anything in common with an Earth Kingdom peasant.

[Have a sneer Avatar Wan. Thanks to her mun, Azula knows that Wan was the first human to take firebending from the lion turtles - and that they are spiritually related due to Avatar Roku being her great-grandfather - but that still doesn't give her cause to respect the young man before her.]

Kuvira was an orphan. But... better to be an orphan than to know your own mother thinks you're a monster.

But that doesn't matter. Never did. Mother is gone and I am still here.

I think you're right. I'm an orphan. I don't know if my mother didn't want me or if she died. I'd rather have the possibility that she just couldn't keep me than to know that she didn't want me.

[Wan paused for moment before approaching and speaking softly.]

But Kuvira's mother gave her up when she was eight. Her mother might not have thought her a monster, but her mother didn't think she was worth keeping.

Mother always treated Zuko better. She loved him more.

[Okay, so maybe there is some begrudging respect there. Considering Azula's disdain for authority and desire for power she can't help but be a little in awe of the first human to defy the lion turtles and keep his bending.]

[He crossed his arms and smirked.]

I know who you are. I've been told about you in a couple of the worlds I've been to. Zuko and Aang have both spoken of you. Mostly about how you almost killed Aang with lightning.

[Which he was not really happy about, but from what Zuko has said about her mental state, well... he's sympathetic. Just not to the point of abandoning all caution. But, fortunately, in this place it was safer to speak to people who would be his enemies in another life.]

But you don't really need to be interested in me. I die close to ten thousand years before you're even born. I'm not sure there's much to be interested in.

Oh, so you have run into Zuzu? Predictable.

Not almost. I DID kill the Avatar. That filthy water tribe peasant brought him back.

[Eyes narrowed - grump, grump, grump - yes, it is obvious sometimes that she is Zuko's sister]

If he had died, his soul would have passed on to the next life and he wouldn't have been able to be brought back. Near death is not death.

[A shrug as that seemed a simple enough concept to him. Then again, he didn't know how long after he died it would take for his soul to leave his body and go into the next life.]

And I'm not the origin of all firebenders. There are hundreds, thousands of humans that the Lion Turtle gave the power of fire to after me. The only thing I'm the origin of, is the Avatar.

Never seems an appropriate length of time.
