Guess who's mun just finished Gundam Unicorn?
The god of possibility, eh? Fancy words never was my thing. Actions always spoke louder in the end... and what I saw was damn impressive. Two kids - no... two men standing against insurmountable odds and denying a world that would see them killed for their beliefs with the force of their will? Heh... they'd fit right in with Dai Gurren.
Psycho-power, Newtypes, spiral energy... what it's called in the end really doesn't matter. It's that fighting spirit to keep moving forward at all costs, to see what's over the next horizon, and to leave the world a better place for having been there in the first place...
That is what makes a man.
...That said... Gurren Lagann is still the manliest Ganman, or Gundam, or whatever, there is.

Name's Kamina. Back home, I kinda led a group of freedom fighters with my bro. It never ceases to amaze me just how far we came... and none of it would've been possible without Simon.

Freedom fighters... I would say I'm acquainted with such but I can't say one side or the other is truly seeking freedom anymore. I'm not sure they have for some time now.

Freedom is a funny thing... it means different things to different people at different times. For most of my life, I thought if I could just get to the surface world, that would be freedom... only to find another foe to conquer.
In a way, conflict itself is a sort of freedom. You never really know how a person truly feels until you come to blows over ideology... and there's really never such a thing as pure good, or pure evil.
...After all, even an entity bent on draining emotion from the entire universe was doing so in an attempt to keep the universe intact... and by simply standing against it, I could be painted as the villain.
In the end, it's up to you to define freedom, and fight for that.

You had any doubt? Still, it would be nice to have a video game made about us, huh? Though I doubt any virtual versions would be able to do us any justice. Hell, our manliness would probably melt any kind of machine that tried to recreate us.

Don't underestimate just how far technology's come, bro. Humanity's been led by your example, our example. Something made by us couldn't possibly falter, even against our burning spirit. If anything, it's powered by it.

Now that is something I'd like to see. Hell, knowing you, you'd probably power an entire planet's worth of stuff by yourself.

[She blinks a moment, then reaches up to ruffle her hair back into shape and compose herself.]
I had never really realized such until recently. For myself freedom has always been... elusive. It's an idea I understand but not precisely one I know the meaning of, at least in accordance with myself. To those subjects of the Earth Federation, to those holding on to the hope of Zeon, I believed I fully understood the freedom they required.
War was not freedom. It was casualty and death. It was good people being sacrificed for ideals. And I wanted no more of it.
[There she tilts her head a bit, gaze distant.]
In the end though it's just as you say. Freedom must be defined by each individual for themselves. And it must be something they believe enough to fight for.
[She smiles a touch.]
Should I feel foolish for only now realizing that?

The way you talk... you sound just like forehead-boy. So prim and proper. He was a lot like you really. Brought up in a hole that was ruled by a religion that had to exile someone whenever their population exceeded 50 people. And by exile, I mean send them up to the surface, unarmed, just with what food the village could spare, and sent to a wasteland where Beastmen were just waiting to kill them.
But, when push came to shove, even forehead-boy decided he'd rather fight for what he thought was right, rather than be told. However, if Simon, Yoko, and I hadn't fallen into that hole... I wonder if he'd ever have been challenged to rethink his beliefs.
I was lucky in that regard. I had my dad, and Simon to help push me, and the rest of Team Dai Gurren. Sometimes, we just need to find someone that can kick our minds out of here... [He leans forward, tapping Mineva's forehead with an index finger] ...and into here. [And now he's just going to poke her chest over her heart. What is personal space?]
