Thanks to this, it seems that I will have to pick between Mavis, Natsu, and the others, and my demons. Neutrality won't be an option here, like it was in our own world. Tell me, mundane: Was it worth it?

Attaining it, and keeping it, are two very different things. It never lasts long, as I've seen. Nor is it ever universal.

Tell me... Fairy Tail does not believe in killing. Are the demons that Fairy Tail defeated dead?

Well, like I said, it's a work in progress. If we can achieve it, I'm sure with hard work, we can also keep it.

Tell me honestly, though, what's your affiliation with Tartarus? You're not their master, are you?

[Mira knows this Zeref only wants peace, but this lingering idea perplexes her since the demons all worship him.]

I created most of its members, as I'm sure you are aware by now. However, that's where my affiliation with them ends. I'm not their master, nor even a member. In fact, they've never even met me in person, before.

{ That's actually their main motivation; they want to find him, or at least get his attention, if not his favor. }

The guild was founded by their master, who is the most powerful demon I've ever created.

From what I've seen...peace isn't something that's maintained so much as protected but even the act of protecting can be considered disrupting it. I suppose that makes the time with peace all the move valuable.

That will most likely be the case. I'll never be forgiven the damage I've done, especially not after Tartarus' actions. Nor should I be.

Zeref-san did not lead it, so I don't see why it's your fault. I don't want to fight you, Zeref-san but if you an--and Tartarus hurt the guild, I can't forgive you.

No, I didn't order Tartarus to do this. Only Tartarus' Guild Master has the right to do that, or Marde Guille, since he appears to have taken on the role of Tartarus' temporary leader in their Master's absence.

However, they are merely doing what they were created to do. Ultimately, their actions are my responsibility.

Can Zeref-san not stop Tartarus?

Marde Guille is not the most powerful demon I've created, but he could very well be the most intelligent. Their Guild Master is the most powerful demon I've ever created, and perhaps could ever create. A demon known as E.N.D.

{ Zeref sighed. }

[ there's something about that name that's chilling. ] It sounds scary but whatever happens, we can't let the world be destroyed.

This is what they have chosen to do in order to try to win my favor. If I were to appear now, it would be rather anticlimactic for them, wouldn't it?

Yes, I suppose Zeref-san is right. We can't do anything but fight, right? I still sincerely hope that Zeref-san will alright as well.

I will be. Believe it or not, I've survived worse than this.

It's all up to Natsu, now. Whether E.N.D. lives or dies will be decided by his actions.

Marde Guille may have underestimated Natsu, but he is by no means weak. If I were to guess, he hasn't even begun to get serious, yet.

I have yet to meet him to see how strong he is, but I can't let him hurt Natsu-san, even if Natsu-san is strong enough to take him on.

Is he really strong?

He was the one who trapped most of Fairy Tail in stone. He's not as powerful as E.N.D., but he's arguably the most intelligent of my demons.
