on picking up characters nearly a century old

Dear mun,

Nice to finally meet you after, what, thirteen years? I know Lucy and I are your favorites, and I'm flattered, really. But do you honestly think this is the best idea?

At least take me from the films. I'm from 1942. Did you really have to look that up? Girls. In case you hadn't noticed, the films "updated" our speech. Not to mention you haven't read the books in quite a few years. You're probably mucking it up right now. Plus, no offense, but you're an American. Our syntaxes are completely different.

I know that you're trying. That's admirable. And if it makes you happy, then I say, go for it. All I'm asking is that you be prepared for the consequences. Knowing you, those consequences will include a substantial amount of self-loathing after re-reading this letter. I really wish you'd stop doing that to yourself.

Best of luck,
Edmund Pevensie

P.S.: Re-read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader at the very least, will you? That film was deplorable.

Sounds as though you've your hands full with that mun of yours. Not that I've any room to speak - nearly impossible to get her to budge.

oh, yes, i fully agree that the Voyage of the Dawn Treader film was deporable. That mist plot point, did they really need that one? And did they truly have to bring Her back again? I am well past any fear of her, hatred and disgust are all that remain when it comes to that Witch-Queen. I understand summoning her in the Prince Caspian film, but including her on Voyage of the Dawn Treader? That I do not understand nor can I forgive it.
