Maybe she finds you beautiful. Mine is more in love with my hair than I am.

[ Arthur's french carries the trace of a mild accent, but is otherwise perfectly up to scratch. When he speaks it's in a calm tone that borders on reassuring, an attempt to soothe by repeating something someone had once told him a long time ago: ]

You don't always have to like something to be part of it.

i was pretty sure i woguld never see a lucie eeever

Touching...

It is... hard to look at it that way, when I am so close to it.

[ It's not quite what he means but it's more telling of her than it is him. Arthur shrugs (maybe, sure) and slides his hands into the pockets of his slacks, his spine bending into a posture more relaxed than usual. ]

Sometimes, yeah. [ He pauses, a slow frown shuttering over his face; Arthur's seen better but he's seen worse, too. He wonders if it's her blood or somebody else's. ] Are you alright?

oops... also, that would be delightful 8V

[She shakes her head.]

It doesn't.

[It matters what you see, Lucie. She's devoted herself to this nightmare, for you.]

It does not change what is there.

[ She isn't one to know too much french.

Bulgarian. English. Yes.

But french? Enough to get by, she supposed. When she fled Bulgaria, to England, she had to get by in France somehow. God, that was a long time ago. Aaah, nostalgia.

Besides. French was a sign of class. Which is why her french is old fashioned, if nothing else.
]

[ She offers a curious, though slightly disinterested look. ]

Mm. You;re not happy with the attention? [ Her eyes scan the girl. ]
