Mun is it? I have to say this is one of the stranger situations I have found myself in, but not nearly as horrifying as most of them. I guess I can agree to this arrangement pretty easily.

Wasn't like I was getting much done in my version of the foundation anyway. Besides this seems like much more fun. You said there were mythical creatures, aliens and other SCPs here, right?

You know, after all the encounters you've had, I'd have given up on this desire to explore years ago.

I find this too fascinating with everything to be discouraged by exploring and I have to guess from meeting my older self that I don't lose that.

I'm surprised this place hasn't reinvigorated your sense of wonder. There's a lot to see and do and there isn't a general populace you have to protect from any of it.

I just found that out a bit ago actually. I'm still interested in meeting the friendlier sort that hang about here, but I am more wary of where this mundane can send me.

I never minded the threat of danger. I would of met a lot more SCPs had they allowed me, but being stuck in a hellish universe without even that as a final recourse doesn't sound like my idea of a good time.

Wonder? We have a populous consisting of dangerous things and people who either don't know or don't care what is coming for them. We have monsters and innocent children mingling and interacting, sometimes with disastrous effects.

What we don't have is an organized team experienced in dealing with threats as they arise, an archive of information on these threats so that they may be neutralized or a gathering of great minds to analyze and find a solution to these threats.

As much as I enjoy watching events unfold knowing my limited ability to deal with them, I am not yet that cold as to not be effected when innocent people get hurt.

So this place isn't as great as I thought.

Well Doc there's at least two people standing here that know about dealing with paranormal threats. If our paths keep crossing like this I imagine we could get some actual work done. At the very least we could steer people away from threats.

[Ethan isn't a brave man. He remembers all to well following through with containment procedures that were monstrous in their own right. He doesn't really want to know what he would do if faced with hard choices again.]

I am just a desk man, though. I do better with hypotheticals and paper files than I do with real threats.

Maybe I'll come along just to make sure you do not do anything catastrophic with that knowledge you possess.

Well at least in this place the situation is a little different. The cat's already out of the bag that much I do know.

I can certainly appreciate that. I think we can balance each other out a bit in that regard.

Let's hope balance will be enough. It's been years since I had to shoot anyone and I'd hate to fall off that wagon.

Well, besides myself and 231-7, I haven't seen many SCPs lurking about here. I would place your focus on your mun. They are your greatest enemy and closest ally. Never take your eyes off of them.

I'm starting to get that now too. At least he's not intending things to remain too stagnant. It's all just a matter of where to send me.

Oh and which SCP are you exactly? You don't look familiar.

Agreed. Going out into the world without the resources the Foundation provides is daunting but we do what we must, right?

Certainly, but from what I understand we'll have more intellectual resources than we got back home.

Since there are good people from these other universes too.

I'm sure there are. I am sure there are just as many good people with good intentions but terrible ideas.

Forgive me, optimism isn't my strong point.

I don't intend just to take people's random ideas of course. Just look for tested theories and observed traits.

Well that and my own experiences. If I didn't pay attention to facts in some universes I would be dead.

I suppose so. On that note, remember self preservation at all times. I will be relying on you more likely than not to find my way home some day. So I need you to not play the hero if we find ourselves in the same place.

Relying on my shifts is probably a bad idea Doc, but I promise I'm not going to just leap at some eldritch abomination. As you can probably tell I'm not exactly combat ready either so combat for me is a last resort.

It may not be the best of ideas, but it's the best I have until I get a better idea of what I am going to be dealing with. Speaking of abominations around here, did you know I ran into SCP 173 in these parts?

Well I just mean unless you're planning on being in physical contact with me 24/7 you're likely out of luck when the shift happens.

[Of course the mention of 173 gets a shocked look.]

173 of all things?! Why would someone bring that thing here?

I am not even sure. I stared at it for so long I got bloody eye strain. I am still a little too proper to give details, but it was a very frightening and uncomfortable encounter. I am not sure if it was luck or spite that saved me in the end.

Didn't think about when I chose the PB, but it's a bit funny he's from Doctor Who considering 173 XD

You definitely don't need to. The file was more than enough to keep me disinterested in pursuing study of that SCP more.

It's a lot different studying them from the safety of outside their containment. It's even easier to just review the case files and write up observations that way.
