what do you mean x/1999 is old and nobody cares about it anymore
Hey. Hey. Why are all my icons of me being sad or looking confused? What exactly are you planning on doing with this journal? Have you forgotten that I'm also 'The Majesty of God' and can kick almost everyone's ass by looking at them funny!?
... no, you're just going to put me in awkward situations and laugh at me, aren't you?
Can you at least make an effort to find a Fuuma that's normal?

This should be interesting.
welp, there goes Kamui's cool.
[this person looks exactly like the person the Sakurazukamori killed in Subaru's vision to Kamui, but definitely not a girl.
Wait. Is this Subaru as a kid?
Oh god.]
A-are you ... Sumeragi Subaru?
Oh excellent.
Oh. O-oh! Yes, yes I am! I'm sorry, I didn't even introduce myself to you, did I. How rude of me! [Hasty apologetic bow.] I'm so sorry! I'm-- Er, well, you seem to know who I am already-- [How awkward.]
I...don't believe I've met you before, though? Forgive me if I'm wrong. [The idea seems to make him uneasy. He doesn't tend to forget a face.]
no subject
No, we haven't met.
[no Kamui isn't going to introduce himself without prompting. He's too busy being surprised.]
no subject
Ah, okay! I'm glad! Er, not that we haven't met, but that I haven't forgotten you. I am glad to meet you now, er-- [After a moment of mentally groping for a name he realizes he never actually got one.] Oh, you haven't given me your name yet. S-sorry.
[No, the boy seems to be entirely too distracted by staring, Subaru realizes.] Um. I...suppose you must know me because of my family, then? I'm just a normal person, really. [It's a weak offering to try and reassure the kid that he's not really that remarkable, but on second thought how would he even recognize his face from just his family's name??]
no subject
No, I ... it's just that you look a lot like your sister. [yes, Kamui is so smooth, that almost sounds like it wasn't time travel or anything! perfect.] I'm Shirou Kamui. [bows]

No, get a hold of yourself Kamui, man up, seize the situation! Don't just stand there staring, Subaru is trying to have a conversation with you and for once it's not accompanied by sad smiles and/or cigarette smoke. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! Maybe you could even change the course of history and prevent terrible things from happening! Right?
well maybe not, but Kamui's still going to hope.]
I-I'm not really friends with her. I only saw her once. [no no now you sound like a stalker shit] You ... told me about her? [explain yourself!]
We're going to meet in the future.
no subject
Hey, it's okay, I'm not mad. Now I have something to look forward to! [He smiles.] It's nice to meet you, Kamui-san.
no subject
I'm not that much to look forward to, but thank you.
no subject
Of course you are! You've already been so tolerant of my fumbling. [He rubs the back of his neck apologetically, giving a sheepish smile.]
no subject
[speaking slowly] A lot happens to you between now and then as well ... although I wasn't there, so I don't have first-hand knowledge. But I can tell you if you want. Maybe it will help.
no subject
It seems to have really distressed you... I'm sorry. However, I-- [How to explain? He gives an uncomfortable laugh.] I have certain abilities that would allow me to see into the future, if I wished. I'm not as skilled in them as my Grandmother, but I do have them. However, there are many different reasons to exercise caution when doing so, so it's something seldom done. I feel like the same sort of logic would apply, in this case...? For the less-arcane reasons at least.
[That was kind of wordy, wasn't it.] Basically, thank you for the offer, but whatever happens happens for a reason, and it's not really my place to choose to change it? I'll face whatever happens when it happens. [He offers an encouraging smile.] And I already know I get to meet you in the future, so I know I'll be fine! [The smile turns a bit rueful.] My life's never been of the easy sort, honestly.
goddamn it nappa ;A;
He keeps from making a sound - a whimper, a scoff, a horrified laugh - at the last somehow.]
... I only offered because ... to not do so would have felt unkind. I agree with you, except for one thing.
Nothing happens 'for a reason'. It happens because of the choices people make. Fate isn't real; people just use it as something to blame for their troubles.
[He still looks sad, but that's being drowned out by determination, or maybe just anger.] Nobody has the right to hurt someone else just because 'it had to be that way.'
no subject
The sensation leaves him breathless, and aching to ease Kamui's pain.]
Ah, perhaps you misunderstood what I meant... [He offers the response unsteadily, glancing away. He has no idea what Kamui's been through, but whatever it was, Subaru feels he has no right to contradict the boy on this matter. He swallows, and closes his eyes.]
I am sorry.
no subject
... I'm just really tired of seeing people get hurt and saying 'this is how it was meant to be', or ... or people hurting people and saying 'this is what you wanted' ...
no subject
[Subaru glances up at Kamui, eyes full of sympathy.] Your life seems to have been very difficult. I wish there was something more I could say to help.
no subject
Kamui thought Subaru was kind. Nice. Too nice. Caring. Compared to this Subaru -
there's hardly a comparison at all. It's a fading candle next to a small sun. It's obvious at a glance that Subaru is practically feeling Kamui's pain with him and he hasn't even felt it yet.
So that's how wrecked Subaru is over everything that happened to him. Kamui didn't have the measure of it before. Now he knows.]
Don't worry. There's a lot you do for me later, so ... I'm sorry for troubling you. I should go.
[he turns to do just that.]
no subject
N-no, you didn't trouble me! It's no trouble--... Really it's not. You don't-- [--have to go? But it wasn't in Subaru's nature to stop him if he really wanted to.]
no subject
He hates the Sakurazukamori with a passion that surprises him in intensity. The suddenness of his hatred burns the desire to cry away. He sucks in a breath.]
You're too nice to be real.
no subject
[There's no way Subaru could possibly guess Kamui's thoughts at the moment, so the observation is just...a little confusing.]
Do you think I'm lying? You've really been no trouble. Honest. [What did I say what did I say I must really have upset him but honestly what did I say...?]
no subject
no subject
I wouldn't say that. Exactly. I mean some things are, of course. Everyone has troubles sometimes though. I just. People don't tend to be one of them. For me. Anyway.
no subject
He can hear the tension in Subaru's voice start to increase.
He really should go. He can smile, and go. That's something he's capable of.]
You're really amazing, Subaru.
Goodbye.
[and he's roofhopping away to go blow up some innocent abandoned building, probably.]
no subject
I-I'm--
[The shaky protest starts as quickly as Kamui's compliment ended, but the boy was already gone. Subaru stares after him, stunned and legs quivering, one hand clasped to his chest with the other anxiously wrung around his wrist.
"Amazing"? Was he being sarcastic? Subaru had tried his best, but in the end he felt like he had misunderstood Kamui completely. Where had he gone wrong?
He swallows the growing lump in his throat, shifting his gaze to the ground, the only place he felt was worthy of it at the moment.]
--sorry.....
