Sometimes, I think we both would be best served if you would actually sit down and write out my timeline. It's getting to the point where even I am confused as to what's happened when.

Then again, seeing as you still haven't finished the survey for me, I suppose that would be asking too much.

I'm in rehearsals right now, but the performance opens in a week and a half, and the next doesn't start rehearsal for three weeks. So some time in there? Or I can pull my calendar out if you need more advanced notice.

If you'd be willing to get me a ticket, I would like to attend one of the last performances of your show. If I stay for a week, we should have time, I'd think.

I can manage a ticket. I'd offer a place to stay as well, but it would be... impractical.

No, I'd love to taste authentic Japanese food. I only know sushi from take-away boxes.

Not really had to introduce a man to really anything. At least not in recent memory.

Ah. [A pause. He imagines that he isn't missing the point here.] How does Japanese culture look upon homosexuality in general? When it isn't staged?

It's... odd. It's become slowly more acceptable, though nowhere near like it is in Europe or America. And women are still mostly expected to become wives and mothers, so...

I see. I've experienced both sides. I've grown up in France and live in Luxembourg now, both relatively tolerant countries - but I have also lived several years in various West African countries where the acceptance for gay people is non-existent, sadly.

Well, at least here no one is likely to get killed over it.

I think it's a bit more acceptable for men. Historically if nothing else.
