Are you threatening me, Miss--? [he pauses in a way that clearly indicates he's waiting for a name]

[ So sorry, Crane, but you ain't gettin' a name from this dame! ] Ha! Indeed, I threaten you, for you insult my Lady Mun's dear friend, and I will not have my Lady Mun's dear friend insulted so abominably.

[ah well, he can deal with this] And what is the stick in your threat? [does he sound intrigued, because he is]

[ She gives him a narrowed look and raises her hands in front of her, then shakes them, blue magic like a flame lighting up at her palms. ]

[oh, wonderful. The look of glee on his face is just barely restrained. He is starting to fear you]

[ And she's advancing across the distance between them, her magic growing as the blue flames enlarge. ] Are you mad, Lord Crow?

Mad is a term with so many meanings. Which is it that you refer to? [he shivers]

[ She stops in front of him, her magic just inches from him….but then the flames flick out with a snap!, and Sigyn tilts her head upwards at Crane, cattish eyes watching the muscles in his face move. ]

You are ill, Lord Crow. Madly so, if you devour your own fears so ravenously.

Ah, that mad. [he smiles] Fear is the most intriguing part of humanity. It's what drives us. Every choice you make is driven by fear. Why should I not enjoy my own fear? It means I'm still alive.

[ She is still for a moment, eyes staring at Crane while her mouth sets in an almost indifferent line, before she reaches up with her arms and her hands and places them inches from Crane's face. ]

Fear is the enemy, not the friend.

But why can't it be both? [despite his congenial tone, there's a bead of sweat making its way down his brow and the way his eyes seem to sparkle does indicate one or two wires crossed]

Then it would be a liar. [ She puts her hands against his face and applies pressure, His skin is such…a sickly pallor. ] Do you mock Lady Shady out of fear?

Oh, you're going to psychoanalyze me? It won't work, I wrote the book on fear. [his smile widens] Perhaps I fear her as a puppet fears its master. But that would indicate that she has control over me and I do believe she fears that I have control over her. So a puppetmaster she does not make.

You lie. You twist your words back and then forth. You create poor arguments. [ She lifts one hand from his cheek, then smacks it back with a clear slapping sound. ] Midgardians are smarter than this, aye?
