Were it my brother, at least I could contest him. His power rivals my own, but he likely could not force me to do much of anything. Unlike my present situation.

[God's love is limitless, of course, but that doesn't mean Michael isn't horribly bitter about Lucifer's arrogance possibly being the cause of their father leaving. And well, if he was jealous of Lucifer being the favorite child, he's not going to discuss that with some human.]

[it's nothing against Raphael-- Michael is not particularly notable for his expressiveness. if it means anything, there's only around four beings in the universe who can even gain that reaction, and one of them had a cage built for him and two are missing. although this one has not been in the cage yet, and would likely be a ball of holy fury if he had.]

Maybe you don 't interfere,but there are times when you really should. I mean you have the ability to affect things and yet you couldn't be bothered to at least try to save certain people from a plane crash. (She's refering to her father and his not coming home from his last business trip. She blames God for that and so much more, because she's sure her prayers when she was young were never heard, but yeah still not pissed and bitter as hell.)

[ Raphael doesn't take it personally - he never has. Raphael is as devoted to Michael as Michael is to God, even if he's quieter about it. But Michael is the one he misses most, Michael is the one he never imagined Heaven without. Gabriel he's mourned, Lucifer is forever lost, and God is never coming back. Michael was the one who was supposed to win, supposed to reign. Raphael isn't equipped to lead Heaven, and he knows it.. ]

Let me explain this once more, clearly.

In the scheme of things, you are nothing. Your lives are insignificant and over in the blink of an eye. Your father's death on that trip was not an accident-- [yep, he just read your mind] --as few things are. Were I to spend my time answering every prayer I hear, I would be unable to do what is important.

[also, he really doesn't care too much, because when you're immortal, humans look like an ant colony and it's pretty much impossible to comprehend the finality of death when it doesn't apply to you. at least he's benevolent most of the time and respects that humans have the right to exist.]

You pray to those stronger to you and assume that we exist for no reason other than your petty whims.

[Raphael was always the most reliable, when Lucifer turned sour and Gabriel ran. There's a certain level of trust Michael has for him, that he can give him a task and it will be accomplished, that it's one less thing on his mind. Leading the army, after all, is not so much draining physically, but mentally.]

Then it would seem I have little choice than to go along.

I understand if I'm placed somewhere, I will likely become human. Or at best, demoted to a cherub.
