I cannot spare time to go to a 'game', even if there were one that would take me. You have ideas, and I respect that. But I am not in a position to leave Republic City right now. The Equalists are beginning to gain too much power; truthfully they gained too much power before I set foot in the city at all.

I have to master the elements. I have to defeat Korra, through any means necessary. I will not say I hate Korra; she has stated her reasons for what she does. She is not evil, but misguided. Unfortunately, I am not left with the option of mercy. I have no time. Plans have to be made. We are outnumbered, without all the facts, with little in the way of time. There cannot be one second spent away from the City in its current state. I neglected my duty as the Avatar, and the world suffers for it. My training took too long. For the state of things, there is only one to blame.

But I am the solution.

It's not as if the police haven't been thorough in their attempts. But they face even more problems than I myself am currently addressing; it is important that I do what I can to protect the city from this threat.

The Avatar is the reincarnated spirit of balance between the spiritual and physical worlds. Every Avatar has the ability to control the powers of water, fire, earth, and air.

[splutters] Four powers?! I would never be able to keep all that straight! My partner says I do enough damage with one!

I have no choice. I was born with the potential for it, and for the good of the people, I have got to master them. Quickly. Time is running out.

Though my mun argues that lightningbending is in and of itself another power. Under her technicality I have five.

[shakes head] Lightning... Fire, Earth, Air, Water, AND Lightning. Hate to be on YOUR bad side!

Actually, at present I only have Fire, Water, Lightning and the ability to temporarily paralyze people. And given Equalists are becoming a vast political movement in advocation of genocide, it is not enough.

I am trying to seek out an earthbending teacher and relocate my airbending one while I am here. If nothing else, those are goals worth pursing while I try to talk my mun out of keeping me here.

Don't know about vast political movements or these Equalists, but-

Since birth, Tarrlok. You know Avatar Aang died the year I was born. But until I was twenty three, I did not know my power.

I take it you are not the Tarrlok from my world, then.

Truth be told, brother, I have taken great lengths to avoid you in my world. As much as I disagree with some of your ideas, politically and otherwise, to fight back too hard is to risk revealing to someone, however inadvertently, that you are my brother.

Everything you have in your life would be undone by that. And although I still wish you had come with me when I left Yakone, I will not destroy your life.

I will never understand you. But I am not upset with you.

[Amon turns to her, and he takes in the differences between her and the Korra he knows. There's a lack of anger there, even in her wary eyes. A lack of hatred for the world and every bender in it; such a thing seeps through when he focuses on her face, her posture. She is perhaps the same age as his Korra, but she is not the same.

His voice is calm, level, as he explains himself.]

Avatar Aang died the year I was born. I am the Avatar.

Would like a demonstration of my elements?

With as many of you as I've met here, I would think you would understand the concept of alternate worlds already, if you have been here longer than I have.

Yes. I am serious.

I think you're head is unscrewed, Amon. No. Do you want proof that I'm The Avatar? I have no problem with that.

There are many different worlds, Korra. Sometimes, who received the Avatar spirit is one of the changes.

[He turns from her. His Korra was always unreasonable. Even she hadn't believed there was an Avatar after all these years until she fought Amon. She had managed to hold her own through a mixture of agility and chi blocking that blew his own out of the metaphorical water, and it's odd to see the same face so mellow and casual instead of bloodthirsty.

Not facing her, he throws up his hands and whips of water fly, harmless when not directed at her but precise and freezing the second they hit the wall, thick and spiked, dangerous. Then he lets loose a wave of fire, large and unrelenting, to melt every last one of them.]

I can do that too. [Korra does the same thing that Amon did] I think Tenzin would mostly be on my side, Amon.

Tenzin understands alternate worlds, alternate histories. In the world where Aang lived longer, you are the Avatar. In the one where he died much earlier, I am. These are not complex concepts, Korra.

In my world, Tenzin has become my Airbending teacher. He is a good man.
