As nice as it is to get a little recognition, I don't want to be separated from the Enterprise and I certainly don't want to be trapped somewhere alone, where I won't have anyone from the Enterprise with me. [ pause. ] The ones I've served aboard.

I've told you this is a bad idea and now you want to "toss me" into a place you feel you'd have to uproot someone else from just so you won't have conflicts to worry about? What, because we're both doctors? That's hardly fair to her or to me. And I'd also prefer not to go to the other one you're thinking about. I've had enough of god-like entities. So stop thinking about it and send me back to the Enterprise. Doctor's orders.

I'm actually not familiar with her at all and likely won't be. I'm a little ahead of her time, or so I've heard [ and someone is getting a look at that ], and if the same source can be trusted, they'll be gone for a long time. I might not ever know that crew, not personally.

I thought you might be from the original Enterprise. [ she hadn't wanted to assume just yet. ] That's right, though if you're curious about the differences, I'm not the best one to ask. [ that would be geordi or maybe even lieutenant barclay. not the good doctor. ]

[ of course they are. they're captain kirk's crew. ]

They're hard workers and good people, I'm not in the least surprised others aspire to emulate their like.

[ sounds like how her captain speaks of his crew. a fond smile crosses her face. ]

They're lucky to have a captain who supports them.

Dr. Beverly Crusher. [ ahh the infamous captain james t. kirk. she takes his offered hand and gives it a shake, her grip firm but gentle. ] It's nice to meet you, too. [ even if she's having to internally debate about how to address him. at least she's pretty up-front about being a doctor. ]

So what brings you here?

[ At least med/science blues haven't changed in the future, that's a nice clue as to her profession before she hits the nail on the head. ]

A beautiful doctor in distress, but clearly you've got things under control so I'm starting to wonder if I should make a sharp exit.

I'm hardly a doctor in distress. [ plz kirk. that's totally her folding her arms over her chest and just giving him a patiently exasperated yes that's a thing look. ]

I'm not going to chase you out, but the last time I had a captain in sickbay, it wasn't for a personal chat.
