a quick voicetest. (canon is Greek mythology.)

Why should I go anywhere else except to the land of the dead? You don't understand.

I loved my father. I did what I could for him, and I am proud to have done so.

I went willingly for a reason.

YES! AN IPHIGENIA!!!

[ It takes a minute. For her to suck in a deep breath. And then let it out. Oh gods. Iphigenia. The tears will start up again -- dammit. ] Your sacrifice...shall always be honored.
wasneverasked: (taken; who are you?)

of course! Iphigenia is a hero of the Trojan War

Your uncle and I miss you dearly. As does your mother. [ And Agamemnon missed her as well, but that's past tense since Cylse killed him and what not. ]

Hermione misses you as well. She hasn't picked up a toy shield since your death.
wasneverasked: (unsure; that's not right)

But you did what you felt was necessary -- as a true princess of Sparta would. We could not be more proud of you.

[ Because they are. Menelaus will sit in the garden reading papers and feel a soft weight sit next to him on the bench and he'll turn and...it's only one of the dogs. Not Iphigenia. And Helen will be braiding Hermione's hair and Hermione will start to sing and it'll be a song Helen and Clyse once sang for Iphigenia when she was a baby. Gods know how Clyse feels now -- and then Elektra... ]

Elektra speaks of you with the greatest adorations: that she hopes to be even close to becoming the true Spartan princess you are one day.

Perhaps they will make an appearance here. We should all...love to see you again, Iphigenia. My beautiful, brave, courageous niece. [ And then she opens her arms to the girl, just as she did when the child was small and arms full of flowers and smiles... ]
wasneverasked: (proud; a regal lady)

[ There are fools who believe that just because Sparta raises their own strong and fearless that they do not know love. HA! Even a bastard -- though her father never treated her as such -- Helen has known love since first breath. A father proud of his child, brothers encouraging of her warrior studies, and a sister who was her dearest, greatest friend.

And when Iphigenia arrived into the world, Helen adored and loved her niece all the same. She knew -- she knew -- that Iphigenia would do right by Sparta. A beautiful princess with a courageous heart that would make Tyndareus so proud if he were breathing this day... ]

Sparta never forgets her heroes, and you, my dear neice, are a hero in Sparta's eyes.
wasneverasked: (noticing; I see that yes)

Your father...injured your mother's heart. He told her that you were promised to Achilles but...when she appeared at the steps to Sparta to greet you, a new bride, there was only a Trojan princess as mistress and prisoner. My sister was...never well after Paris stole me from Sparta. From her. And she was so alone when your uncle and father left to rescue me.

[ How can she do it. How can she tell her beloved niece that her mother killed her father? ]

No.

But I know you.

Our willingness, it seems, is not an issue for their consideration. If our tales invoke in them a spark of enough interest.

Your father spoke of you.
belovedone: (up and left this town)

Mm, but still. My peace may have been earned but I would not object to getting to see and do a little more, before I go on to my final rest.

And yourself? Have you nothing left you would rather experience, also?

He is in the past. Just like you. Just like me, really.

We're all relics of an ancient time. This I have learned as a worldwalker.
