It has been almost a year since you picked me up. Seems as good a way to celebrate as any, don't you think?

I don't want to leave everyone. You know better than that. But I don't want to be without my memories, either, and I'll gladly dive into an adventure instead.

Don't worry. You're not as rusty as you think you are. There's got to be a little bravery in you - I've had a whole year to rub off, after all.

Well, there's nothing wrong with giving a pep talk when needed, is there?

This whole community reads like a litany of pleas from oppressed convicts to their lawyers. It's rare to see. [It's weird. It's nice therefore that makes it weird]

She has come up with worse. I'm not one to take good behavior for granted. [she smiles and shakes her head. oh, like that whole turning-evil thing that never got to be played out? probably that.]

It's just - she hasn't done this in a while. She doesn't want to be too rash.

Not one to jump in head first huh? [Someone is envious. His is like that.] You oughta hold on to her.

[belle just laughs.] In some ways, I think I am glad for it. It makes me feel like I've got some sense of control in the situation. Better than being - tossed around this way and that, like it seems so many others are.

They like charging in guns blazing. Kind of a sink or swim deal, hard not to hate it.

[He smiles tightly. Hard not to be jealous] Where are you going?

[lucency]

You've got experience in that, then? [a slightly apologetic smile, but still -] If nothing else, it's got to be more exciting than sitting out all the time. Waiting.

Tu Shanshu? [she frowns slightly, questioning it, before, conspiratorially:] I hear there are turtles involved.

Yeah. I like a fight as much as the next guy. I just wish I had -

[Wait what? Lindsey looks shocked, squinting closer] did you say Shanshu?

[As in the prophecy? As it...no. Can't be. He looks very confused then.] and turtles?

The percentage of uncertainty in both yours and mine still leave me anxious.

[lucency]

I think you know yours better than I do; what's the best way to convince them both?

Most of the time, staring at photos and listening to the same song over and over is enough to pull her in one direction or another. This seems to be a greater leap than simply creating another journal.

[lucency]

And is she doing that? If she's gotten far enough to be uncertain, there must have been some progress.

Quite. I'm told a playlist is created. How are things going for you?

[lucency]

Then that's great! Promising, even! [she grins, but shrugs.]

She's working on the application, currently. Nothing too involved just yet - small steps, and all of that.

As is mine. Most days, it's best not to rush them, I find.

There's hope for us yet, for new adventures.

I tell myself that, but the truth is, I'm almost worried to find out what will happen if I don't. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I don't want her to forget, either.

You find the existence between death and dreams as cause for celebration?

I think keeping a grasp on who I am rather than losing it all is, yes.

And what is so important about who you are that you fear its loss?

[lucency]

[she stares, laughs in disbelief, and shakes her head.]

Everyone deserves to have that kind of assuredness, and no one deserves to have it stolen away from them, myself included.

It appears I am in the company of an idealist.

And does your notion of adventure require such assuredness?

[lucency]

Does that put me in the company of a cynic?

It does. Without my memory or sense of self, it wouldn't be my adventure, would it?

A difference of opinion does not necessarily equate the other.

Those who seek their own destiny for destiny's sake often end with nothing.

[lucency]

Destiny's regarded as the outcome, and I never said I was looking for that. I didn't say I was looking for anything.
