on fairytales and zombies.
So let me get this straight. In one of these...game things you want me to go to, I'd be a fictional character, and in the other one I'd be playing a fictional character...
[ Yes, Lydia, isn't it lovely? ...Wait, no? ]
Okay, whatever - but two things.
One, I think you're spending way too much time analyzing this folklore and not even getting anywhere. I seriously doubt Joseph Jacobs ever meant for anyone to translate his story and apply it to - you know - normal people who don't live in the Pride And Prejudice era. And I don't get the parallels you're trying to draw here: I don't have more lovers than I can count, I don't have any brothers, I don't speak in riddles, I'm not getting married, and I certainly don't take walks in the woods to strange men's houses anymore. So stop comparing this whole castle-adventuring, body-finding thing to my Hale-induced mental breakdown, and stop calling it a character arc.
...But I suppose I prefer this one to any about slaying snakes or one of the many versions of Little Red Riding Hood.
And two - I am not touching any dead things. None. No severed hands, and no zombies.

flies at
[...wait a second.]
--You're coming to the island?!
catches in arms!!
it's you isn't it.
well, for all the blue plaid, there's that very red lacrosse jersey that could be counted as the hood, yeah. and the whole...running with wolves and trying not to get eaten. ]
Ah, no. 'Coming' makes it sound like I've packed my bags of my own volition and am coming there willingly. 'Carted off to' is much more accurate.
spins around in circles
[On the one hand--Lydia's coming to the island! On the other, Lydia's coming to the island. This is a conflict.]
...Could be worse? I mean, yeah, sure, there's a couple of homicidal undertones but it's mostly PG! Sort of. Your mun should send you somewhere you actually, maybe want to go, somewhere that preferably won't involve you getting into any trouble or intermittent danger that you can't handle. Not that you can't handle it because I'm pretty sure you could stare a zombie into submission.
are we in a field of flowers? that is a must
And I think the point of all of these places is they include things you cannot handle.
[ because mundanes are a little bit sadistic? and there's this word floating around - godmoderator or something, but it pertains to no one having all the power they should and learning to deal with it. think about it! having to establish her queen bee status from scratch. the time, the hard work, the -
wait, stare a zombie into submission? ]
What is that supposed to mean?
sound of music playing in the background, it's intense.
[Oh shit, maybe that didn't come out like he meant it to.]
--It's a compliment! I mean, seriously, if anyone could take on the zombie apocalypse without even messing up your hair, it'd be you.
ugugu it's so cheesy, I love if
[ Any mounting anger in her is soothed by his hurried compliments, but she still scoffs and rolls her eyes. ]
Well, maybe. Doesn't mean I want to deal with them, though.
