On one hand, I'm really excited because man do I need someone to complain to. But on the other hand... Haven's pretty rough, you know? Mentally. Not that I'm saying you can't handle it! But it's a pretty terrible place.

Looks like my arrival's going to be timely, huh? I don't even want to know what he's like in normal conversation. Kinda tuned most of his monologuing out, to be honest.

Hm... it's been around ten months now? Eight if you don't count the two where I disappeared into the abyss because the boss lady was too busy-slash-lazy to get me out there. ...dang, I didn't even realize it's been that long.

It's a horror movie where they break physics AND you and then laugh as you die a slow, painful death. And then you wake up with a couple of scratches and a ton of trauma like no biggie!

Maverick Hunters, after long enough, develop a kind of morbid sense of humour to deal with the reality of the job. It's something most, if not all of them do - X being one of the few exceptions.

Even Axl, cheerful as he was, had shown it in spades - he'd lived with rogue hunters for years, after all, even before that fiasco where he joined them.

You know what, I'd ask about all the people you keep running into that want to use your parts, but I'll just skip that. [ Is that some hidden ability of Axl's, or what. ] At least you've made contact with someone who can repair you without wanting to take you apart.

Well, to be fair, those kinda people are interesting to be around whem they're not trying to take you apart. They're always curious and love exploring!

She is! There are actually a lot of humans who have supernatural ability in there. The tactician can use magic, and so can her twin. A different lady can control ghosts, and there's a guy who hates me that has electromagnetism as his ability! Pretty awesome, right?

He has an issue with robots that stems from his homeworld. So it's just a thing. It sucks because he doesn't seem like a bad guy past that.

Looks like we'll have more than just us to manage, if it comes down to it. But with what little intel I've been given, I get the feeling most threats aren't the kind of thing you can just fight off. [ He'll pass on the lightning. ]

Yeah, I hate to say it, but Yao's extremely powerful. The monsters, that's easy. But whatever tech Yao's wielding lets them basically do whatever they want to us, and it sucks.
