Blood of Olympus [Here be Spoilers?]

Yeah, I figured this might be coming.

You knew that it had to end sooner or later, and frankly fighting against Gaia? Not something I'd really want dragged out for another few books. Even for your enjoyment.  Also, dude, I thought we were getting me new icons, what happened to that?

Yeah, I am avoiding the point of the topic, I don't want to think on it either!

Listen, we've been through it all, me and you, an' it's not like you're suddenly gonna forget about me. I mean, look at that Harry kid, you still cling to his books and sob over them. Oh yeah, you said I was to remind you to actually post the first chapter of that fic. And to update the other one. ... Probably was supposed to have done that a while ago. ... My bad?

I know why you're freaking out over this book. But you need to stop with focusing on the bad, dude. I know you're telling me it's a hard thing to do and I get that, I really do, but you gotta try. Isn't that what they're all saying?

But, yeah, it's over now. Some new kid's turn next year. Gotta wish him all the luck. He's gonna need it.

You're so optimistic.

Hopefully. But I guess I'll take what I can get.

Mine too. There are too many unanswered questions for it to be a coincidence.

Maybe, a little. It was almost cute, though.

[Can she hug him? Too bad, he's getting a hug.]

I understand. Don't get mopey on me now, Seaweed Brain.

[Yay hugs!]

Really? You certainly looked mopey.
yearrounder: (Shouldered)

[personal profile] yearrounder 2014-10-08 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
That was rude. I should make you apologize.

[This is a look, Percy.]

Would you? If you were in his place?

I do look forward to seeing how this adventure of yours ends, once my mundane manages to attain this latest book. Gaea's one being I never had to oppose to date, but then you've a bit different a world than mine.

Still, it's pleasing to know you make it out the other side! You've proven a mighty credit to your name so far.
olympic_lion: (You know sunrises never get old)

[Yes, well, Herc would rather like to punch your version of him too; he's distinctly less than impressed with how little the 'Gatekeeper of Olympus' has accomplished in his later years. Forgot the 'Protector of Mankind' part, did he?] She's a bit of a temper on her, to be sure- but I've always found her just wanting her children to get along. The problem is, her children.

..? Ah, of course! It's always vital to keep your Mother happy; too few heroes remember that. I always felt rather sorry for those poor souls who weren't 'mama's boys', myself-

But I spoke of your other name, lad. Back when I was a child, Great-Grandpa Perseus was MY idol... and I think he'd be shining proud to see you carry it on.
olympic_lion: (Hot DAMN I'm awesome)

And yet, she wanted that because old Ouranos locked up a good two-thirds of their children due to believing they weren't pretty enough- and the reason she went after Kronos is because HE didn't free them. Father surely has his flaws, but at least he doesn't keep the Cyclopes and Hecatonchires locked away for the crime of being born.

...He just locks up the Titans, so dear Gaea's still unhappy. Hence the Gigantes, and your current concerns- and if they cast down and imprisoned the gods, she'd be mad at them next. You might have a point, lad, when it comes to the Family.

[And Mom plus Shotgun definitely gets a laugh from the big Greek.] The minions should have known better, than to court a mother's wrath! She's one well worth holding on to; don't let yourself drift too far from her heart with adventuring. It's something that can happen before you even notice, if you let it.

He was the greatest hero in all of Greece, you know! There are times I feel guilty for eclipsing him, but I just have to look at his constellation in the night sky to appreciate he hasn't been forgotten.

[It was at the last part where he had to turn his head away, though- that has some bad memories attached, and has absolutely nothing to do with the kind of pleasant conversation he'd been trying to have. Not least because he doesn't remember Hera's madness, doesn't really believe it was her doing; he just remembers waking up covered in the blood of his wife and their children, seeing their dead-eyed stares where love and laughter used to be.

And even after searching them out in Hades' realm, seeking- and gaining- their forgiveness... He still doesn't forgive himself.]

I...

Yes. 'Sucks' is a fair term for it.
olympic_lion: (Yeah. I hear you on that.)

[personal profile] olympic_lion 2014-10-15 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, well- with this Family, it's amazing there's so little blood spattered about; it's one of the few things I can genuinely thank Zeus for.

I trust she's been practicing since then? You never know when she'll find it useful again, and gun safety is vital for mortals to learn. As fragile as they are, one mistake can cause lasting suffering.

[The snarking doesn't really help, but it's something he's gotten used to. Modern folk always seem interested in saying something witty instead of what they actually mean, so he should just appreciate the thought behind it, right? That's the best he's come up with so far.

Besides, he'd really rather not continue on that topic.]

Heh. They still try to serve you with detention? Good for you, I suppose, for letting them do it; it may be a better move in the end, but I always had trouble with that sort of thing.

...Though in a way, I daresay that I owe an apology to all your lot for my failings there.
