New Possibilities on Dreamwidth

To my dear mortal writer; you may portray me as a child for the most part but I think you would be more likely to heed the words of my adult self, so here I am. I suspect you are very eager to settle here, which surprises me as I honestly thought we would be on that Live Journal until Ragnarok. In fact we have played out Ragnarok there on one or two occasions as I recall. I agree that this place is better suited to me, I have a greater degree of control over my surroundings. It's almost as if I were in Niflhel.

You were unable to convince many of our threaders to make the change but that should not prevent us from progressing. Like Death, this move could afford us a clean slate. There must be other mythical beings to meet here. Of course I will miss my loved ones back home but I am able to adapt, it is what I have done my whole life. There are worse fates than simply being lonely my lovely, I should know.

Besides, I believe you will return to the other place. You will just have to split our time between two homes. At least I will be able to travel more often; perhaps I shall gain an understanding of what it must be like for Ullr?

Oh let's not do another Ragnarok okay?

Only so many times I can handle seeing everyone die before I get cranky.

Armies of the dead do not raise themselves, the whole saga is much more trouble than it is worth. I will try to convince my mortal scribe that there is much material to be explored before the end of days, but I can't make any promises.

I'm putting a dampener on things again aren't I? [She purses her lips then changes the subject.] Is your magic still restricted here, Skuld?

Bah, remember I just see the future and guide the souls to Valhalla, other than that kinda useless right? *Yes she's being sarcastic*

Naw it's okay.

I... haven't tested it yet. *Mun might still do that only because she likes limiting the little goddess, just not sure yet.*

I'm sure you have the gumption to pester your scribe until she gives in to your demands.

Yeah, have you met her? She's more dense than Allfather. *Cause yeah Skuld will ALWAYS insist that the stupidest thing Odin's ever done has been trading his eye for a sip of the waters of wisdom.*

That is a little harsh of you isn't it? [Her opinion of the All-Father was not much better. He had not exactly endeared himself to Hel and her siblings upon hearing they were destined to destroy him.]

She keeps having me see the same vision with your brother over and over again. I really despise wolves because of her.

*Small smile* Don't worry I know you're not like him.

I think Fenrir secretly enjoys having you taunt him. Threatening you entertains him to no end.

I'd invite you to meet Garmr in an attempt to change your views on wolves but it may only substantiate them. He is a darling around me but aloof towards visitors.

I think I must have masochistic tendencies since I keep taunting him. Partly hoping he breaks the chains.

I think I can deal.

If Fenrir were to break the chains, he would sooner fight a burly Asr warrior than you. Provided you do not get in his way.

Garmr is a gentle soul really, once you get past his bloodied snout. It is impossible to wipe clean.

Good point. Hey makes me glad I'm still searching for my sisters. I'm not within his hunting grounds.

Blood's not that bad. Or did you forget I am Valkarie?

I'm sure the Valkyrie are even more familiar with blood than I am; considering you collect warriors who have been sliced, stabbed or otherwise maimed to death.

You get used to it after a few centuries.

[He raises an eyebrow. Last time he talked to her she was younger, and he's never actually seen her as an adult before.

After a moment he shrugs.]

Probably moving here.

[His words are quiet and his voice is almost surprisingly deep.]

[Her writer is ill-disciplined and straddles time lines. Hela has been in her position a while longer now; in keeping with her brother's age.]

I would be glad to see you more often, Brother. Regardless of the setting.

[He nods, agreeing, and is silent for a moment. He doesn't like speaking, it just... generally irks him, but sometimes proper communication requires it. And unlike most of the people he finds himself spending time with lately, he actually cares about proper communication with his sister.]

I... am most often at the game the girl has put me in. But there is a... [He pauses, the words and concept strange to him] ...alternate universe she and her friends have created that she wishes me to take more of a role in.

[She knows him well enough to expect a brief conversation but that does not make it any less meaningful. Hel could make up for it, she was easily the most talkative of the three siblings even though she generally thought herself the demure sort.]

It will make the transition easier if you can continue this game of yours here. I have heard of these alternate universes, I am a little weary of them to be honest.

I suppose you could consult the Nornir for advice on the matter.

[Even the shyest could be considered talkative in comparison to Jormungandr.]

It is... an interesting alternative for our family. [He won't say it's good. But compared to his eternal imprisonment in the ocean, it's much better.

In response to her suggestion to consult the Nornir, he snorts.]

Unnecessary.

You will adapt, of that I am certain. [She smiles at the derisive snort.]

The girl has undertaken for you thus far, she will not fail you.

[He nods, slowly. He doesn't have much to say in response to that.

But...]

Will I... see you?

I will be here for the most part.

Perhaps my mortal will place me in a game at some stage. I will have to seek your advice on that.

[He growls softly. He'd like to see her, true, but games are worthless, annoying, pointless exercises.]

[That's his advice.]

[She knows her scribe lacks the discipline to maintain a game but Hel is too polite to say so.]

The Niflhel on my personal journal is not all that exciting, I will have to explore territories beyond my borders.

[He shrugs. She can do what she likes, he's already given his advice. And he refuses to act as a messenger for his mun, so he won't say that he'll be at

mayfield_rpg most of the time and occasionally doing random AU things at

norsebox.

For now, he'll hesitate awkwardly, then reach out and put a hand on her shoulder. It's an attempt at showing affection, anyway. He's no expert in the subject.]

[The hand on her shoulder only encourages her to hug Jormungandr. Neither he nor Fenrir are especially affectionate but that will not stop her from mothering her older brothers.

Perhaps she will visit this norsebox.]

[Oh. Hug. He doesn't get those. Ever. He stands there for a moment awkwardly before wrapping his arms around her in return, holding his sister gently.]

[She finds she doesn't get them often either, though she freely embraces a deserving few. She straightens, after mentally scolding her writer for a classic grammatical error in her last post.]

I wish you well at Mayfield, and wherever else you may roam.

[He nods.]
