In regards to a recent application decision
Take hold of your senses, iakón:kwe. There is nothing to be gained by my traveling to a land so far away from my people.
[He held out his arms to either side beseechingly asking for his mun to reconsider this decision. There was a strength in his voice that suggested he would not be backing away from this subject anytime soon.]
I can not simply leave things as they are. You heard Oiá:ner's words just as clearly as I did. I'm the only hope left for that place. I'm the only one that even stands a chance at removing Washington from his throne.
[Ratonhnhaké:ton had partaken of the Red Willow tea at least three times already, and the power was beginning to take it's toll on his concept of his own self importance. Although he was aware of the risks involved with undergoing the Sky World journeys he would stop at nothing to end the reign of oppression and tyranny that had blanketed the land]
So what if he is there? It makes no difference. I bet he's every bit as stubborn as he has always been.
[Despite what he said Ratonhnhaké:ton avoided that subject as much as possible.Perhaps it might be possible to change history. Wasn't he witnessing a drastic change already? Would it ever be possible to help open his father's eyes to the flaws in his ways of thinking?]

There he is! The man of the hour! I just had to come over and shake your hand.
[Which he does now. Again, personal space... he has no concept of that. ]
The guy who started a war and sent all those souls my way! Let me tell you, business has never been better! My quota is WAY up this year thanks to you!
Now tell me, what 'game' are you heading to? I need to warn the boys to expect a second wave of newly departed! Where ever you go death happens, I need to plan ahead for these things!
no subject
Have I been drinking the tea again?]I do not know what you are talking about.
[.. And he didn't offer to take the other's pale, ashen hand. Especially after the inflammatory words that followed.]
...
[He listened quietly to what this stranger had to say, but he wasn't making much sense. The man was clearly referencing the Revolutionary War but it hadn't only been his actions that had led to the conflict. Furthermore, why would the souls of the departed be of any use to this guy?]
Look, what I have set out to do and what I have been involved in were all in the pursuit of freedom. Things have not always turned out the way I had hoped for.. or the way I planned but I take no joy in having to take the lives of others, so keep your congratulations to yourself.
[Ie. Stuff it Hades]
Now tell me one thing. Who are you?
[Look at him ignore your question]
no subject
[Hense why souls were important to him. The whole... Lord of the Dead... thing. ]
Sure, sure, sure, freedom and all that noble mashugana, look, the point is I can help you. You did me a good turn and I can repay that favor.
[Careful there is a catch. There is always a catch.]
no subject
[He repeated with an edge of disbelief.]
There are many that claim they hold great positions but few who actually do.
[How is he supposed to believe you?
Granted, he'd listened to Juno without her having to convince him of anything but that was years ago and he was more skeptical now. Nor did he appreciate how flippantly the other brushed past the subject of freedom.]I did nothing for you, you don't owe me anything.
[I just told you. I did it for other reasons.]
no subject
But if you need a little proof, fine, I'll give ya some proof!
[Careful what you ask for.
Hades drifts away as the ground begins to shake. Soon there are undead soldiers rising up all around Connor. ]
Recognize these guys? Lexington and Concord eh? You might not, they did have more skin on their bones then. Ha! See? Who else but a God could rise an army of undead soldiers from the ground like this? Are ya convinced yet or do you need a little taste of how real they are?
[They do seem to be carrying their rifles and a few bayonets turn to face Connor.]

................................
....................
.... Or Hades would act recklessly and summon what appeared to be an army of decaying corpses reanimated from their Terran graves.
As the ground shakes below him, Ratonhnhaké:ton braces himself. This power was not unlike the power of the bear but it's effects reached much farther than anything he could accomplish. Nor did Hades need a staff to do it like Washington would have.]
Hades! Are you mad?!
[Turn off the earthquake already! .. But his plea fell on deaf ears, and he was soon faced with something worse than he'd expected. The reanimated corpses were pungent to the senses and grisly to gaze upon. each one was prepped for battle, and ominously surrounding him]
You've made your point, send them back to their resting places.
[Wasn't it enough that they had been felled once?]
no subject
What you don't want to say hello? Catch up on old times? No? Hey, your loss. I don't do things like this all the time.
[Hades raised his voice so it could be heard by all undead present, even if their ears were no longer in the right places.]
OK boys! That's enough, back to bed.
[The dead crawled their way back into the earth as Hades called after them. Instructed one guy to sharpen his blade and a telling a second the eyeless look was totally him.
Now Connor... Hades attention turned back to him once the ghoulies were safely tucked back in.]
Right so the deal, you are heading to a place you don't know with dangers you have no idea about, right? Right! So instead of going in there unprepared why not make it a little more in your favor?
[He held up a finger preventing a protest. ]
Cause look, you have fighting skills, you have power, but don't think that a blade or aspirin laced tea is going to help you out where you're going. I know Davy Jones. We're like that!
[Fingers crossed to show a friendship that may exist only in his words.]
If he wants you dead, badda bing, you're dead!
no subject
Why do you ask questions when you know the answers already?
[No. Put those bodies back in the ground where they belong]
...
[Before he could ask what the other had in mind or what he was referring to, Hades indicated that it wasn't the time to interrupt. How did he know so much about the situation, when Ratonhnhaké:ton hadn't offered any information about his destination before. Somethings could be guessed, but others...]
What can you tell me about Davy Jones?
[It sounded like everyone was supposed to be working for Jones, but he knew he had never agreed to that]
Then he is also someone who abuses the power he's obtained.
[Great. It sounds more like I should be fighting against him than associating with him]
What does he want with us? With me?
no subject
Old brine and fish scales does what he wants, thinks the sea belongs to him when really everybody knows Popo runs the oceans... often poorly but hey, its the only job he could get, what do you expect? So a stay wave wipes our a coastline every now and then, it works out for me!
Davy is after a gem that holds a great deal of power. Naturally us Gods don't feel some one like him should get it. We would rather see it safely back on Mount Olympus.
[Lies with just a touch of truth. ]
This is where you come in! I will make it so Davy's locker doesn't swallow you up and in return you bring the gem pieces back to me. Kapeesh?
no subject
There is something similar to this gem back where I am from. A power like that should not be left in anyone's hands.
[So what did Hades want with it? Did someone that already possessed great power truly need this mystical gem to empower him further]
So this gem, originated on Mount Olympus?
[Not familiar with Greek mythology this was all a bit over his head. It didn't sound like a bad deal on the surface. One gem in exchange for his safety while he was there. Still, he'd rather plunge the thing into the darkest, deepest reaches of the sea so no one could ever find it again- but given Davy Jones connection to the sea... would that be wise? The biggest problem was that he did not entirely trust Hades]
What happens to the gem after it's returned?
no subject
[Lie.]
That's why we should get it back see? You mortals are way too dangerous with them, you might see strange visions or give yourself unreasonable powers that send you off on these crazy power trips...
[Sound familiar?]
And fishbreath? Oy! Who knows what he has in mind for it! It would be safer in our hands where we could lock it up for all eternity...
[OR you know, use it's power to overthrow a certain God and take over Mount Olympus. Whichever.]
no subject
[Mortals are not the only ones who can be corrupted by power, are they? If you're so powerful, why haven't you gone to retrieve it yourself?] When I embarked on the Sky World Journeys I did so of my own volition and I know what the risks are... [I don't need a lecture from you]
[It does kinda]
.. Or if someone was able to destroy it for good. It's in pieces now, so all that needs to be done is to break it even further. If it were reduced to a fine powder then no one would be able to put it back together again.
[Let's give Hades a test]
Under your protection, I'll remove the threat for good.
[Or do you suddenly want to back out?]
no subject
[Hades glided over to knock on Connor's head like it was a block of wood. ]
Is anybody home in there? Do you know HOW the gem was broken in the first place? Its not like you can just grab pieces of it and grind the thing into a powder with your hands. It's MAGIC! It can't be destroyed by you or by anyone else. Not even a God!
Oy... These mortals... give them a little power and they think they know everything!
What has to be done is it has to be sealed away where no one can get their hands on it. That's why I'm here. I will take the thing down into the Underworld where no one can reach it. Get it now?
