You and me both.
Username's not that funny. Come on.
Guess being a source of your amusement isn't the worst thing I've been through, though.

[Oh hai Sierra Madre buddy, it's the Courier.]

You get out okay?
no subject
Did you all... did you all make it out okay as well?

Dog wandered off. Dean headed west, toward Vegas. Should've shot him in the back of the head as he went, but... let go, begin again, I guess. I stayed at the Madre.

Long time...sort of...

[awkward shift] Glad to see you're alive and well. Wasn't sure.
[just a hint of a smirk; dryly] And by your username, I guess you've held on to your strengths.
no subject
[She grins slightly.] Yeah, got no plans on dying anytime soon.
[That grin widens a bit.] Oh yeah - much to the chagrin of...pretty much everyone in the chapter. [Eheh.]

Good. [smile, even if it pulls on the scars a bit] Keep it that way.

I plan to, for sure. Got pulled into a big war, but I think I'll do well enough.
no subject
War? Involving the Brotherhood, or...?
Just... [more awkward. What the hell do you say to your long lost ex girlfriend in a weirdo place like this?] Just take care of yourself.
no subject
[That gets a bit of a smile.] Will-do, and I'll take care of you, too - well, another you. [Veronica, stop ruining the moment.]
no subject
[crosses arms, wry] Is it possible to be jealous of yourself?
no subject
[There's a slightly sheepish grin.] I suppose it's possible.

[pause. She hates talking in this voice, especially to Veronica, but she wants to say something] You were just like him, back then, you know; could see the potential in what a piece of tech could do. He decided to find the most destructive tech possible, enhance it, make it worse.
I want to believe you stayed to make things better. Find ways to rebuild, not end things.

[There's a familiar knot in Veronica's stomach that comes up at the mentioning of Elijah.] I... He had some good ideas back then - those are what I kept from him. Not the obsessions, not the extremism...
[She pauses.]
Not the driving people apart.
no subject
[relaxes a bit]... I'm glad to hear that.
no subject
[There's a wry, if sad smile.] I thought highly of the man, but I could still see his flaws as they came about. Most of them, anyway.

Well, he's a product of the Old World. His perspective's probably pretty different.
But it must be interesting to hear.
