You don't have the time for a game, you know that. I know I need friends, and that you think mutant friends would be even better, considering. But you don't need to toss me anywhere but here. I can make friends in this place. I've already got one!

Besides, I don't like school too much anyway. Plus I don't think my aunt would be too happy about sending me to New York. It's so far.

I can make bolts of light hit things and screw with lightsources around me. Blow them out, make them brighter or dimmer, the usual.

The usual? That's really neat. You and Christopher both have better powers than I do.

I know Christopher would disagree with that, and my mun keeps pointing out how much potential I have, but-

Maybe some of us do, but that doesn't mean all of us do. Don't you realize that? Everybody deserves a chance.

Powers misfire. People die. Innocent, good people who never deserved it.

[She can't help the little smile that appears as she pulls the baggie out of her jacket pocket. These things look even less like cookies than her chalk drawing did, but at least they taste better. Yes, she actually tried one of her own creations]

I... [He looks lost before timidly reaching out to take it from her.] I'll try to keep it down. I have a habit of throwing up when I'm nervous, so no promises. The day may yet hold stressors of that kind.

[Wren tilts her head a bit and watches him for a second before returning the other cookies to her pocket]

I used to do that when I was a kid and it rained. Because of...but I outgrew it.
