Allow me to elaborate. There's no reason whatsoever that your mundane need pull you further than where--our--lord Megatron is incapacitated. [that way you'll be semi-almost-kind-of-not-really-loyal to him!] Additionally it would be unwise to invest in any second season development yet anyway. Far safer to know where you stand at the culmination of the first... to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Secondly, so long as you're patient--bide your time--and wait for the right moment to strike--you can even shove one of these fleshlings out of your rightful place. That wasn't necessary in my case, but rest assured I would have done anything required to secure my position.
