Mun person, I've been totally fine for months without his support or needing him to be there...

Why should I start needing him now?

Let's face it Uncle Glad's probably happier without me being in the way anyhow. Just another huge burden in his life he didn't need. I just-

Okay, you know what? I can't do this. I can't pretend I don't miss him when we both know I do. There's so much I want to tell him about. The friends I've made? The adventures I've had? They're all the sorts of things someone should enthuse about to a well liked parental figure.

Long story short, I wish he was in the city.

...Maybe he'd know what those dreams I've been having are about too.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that. I'd hate to be separated from my own "well liked parental figure" for months on end like that. [Nevermind that said parental figure is the Riddler from Adam West Batman...] What's this about dreams, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh. Well they've... they've been pretty creepy. Not creepy in the usual scary monsters under the bed type of thing but more in a sense of if I don't know if they're real or not.

The last time I had dreams like this was just before I actually found out I was a dragon, So does that mean I'm supposed to expect some other weird changes or transformations or what?

I guess it's possible, but I'm not exactly an expert on that... even if I'm no stranger to creepy dreams. Sorry, Saft.

Hopefully that won't be the case, but that seems kind of doubtful anyway.

So what am I supposed to do...?

I have any more of these dreams and I think I'm going to have a mental breakdown.

Hm... [She looks thoughtful.] Well, have you tried thinking of a specific subject before falling asleep? It isn't always something that works for me but sometimes it does, and it might help you if you haven't already tried it.

But that's the weird thing Tori, I fall asleep pretty much anywhere and anytime at the moment...Before I even get the chance to climb into bed I'm out.

Why do you tremble?

...I've been having some really awful dreams again. Dreams about home being destroyed, The council in ruins, innocent dragons being harmed...I'm scared Uncle Gladinus, I don't know what it means.

[You're the only person she's going to be completley serious about this with, Well other than that one really wise giant robot in the city who's already had his home destroyed due to some sort of war.]

...I've been so worried about you.

...nothing has happened back home. Geronimo and I have been living relatively peacefully.

Why do you allow nightmares to trouble you? They're nothing more than bad dreams, Nivalis...

and I'm sure the council has better things to be concerned over right now Uncle Glad. Like you said, They're just bad dreams, I shouldn't let them upset me this much especially since you've already told me everything's fine.

If you don't like being afraid then don't be afraid! Put your mind to something else, like cleaning or singing while you clean. So long as you're active and not lazing about as I know you're prone to, you'll be rid of your bad dreams in no time.

It's like Geronimo says (though as to why I'm using hiss logic you mustn't ask me), "Life is what you make of it. If you stand still, all of the bad has time to pile up. If you keep moving ahead, the bad will fade."

Well, something to that degree.

[She rubs at the spot where he bopped her but listens to his-er rather Geronimo's words coming from his mouth. Something else to take her mind off of the bad is it? Well then - he might as well know...]

Love...

Love is a warm breeze and the sun through the leaves, the smell of grass and trees and flowers... birds singing... and colour. Colour, colour, colour. Everything bright and alive.

There is no feeling like it...

...and when that feeling is gone, it is hard to realize the sun still shines, the birds still sing...

Without that feeling, it is as if the colour has faded.

The way you talk about Lilacnus, I sort of wish someone might feel those things towards me.

Lilacinus and I had a very precious love. Were you to find someone who thought so dearly for you as I did for her, I would be grateful...

I do think someday you will find love, Nivalis... as for whether or not it proves to be what you are truly ready for, time will tell.

But be that as it may, even if love lets you down, you will always have your uncle should you need to cry. I was not quite so lucky to have someone to turn to when I lost Lilacinus. I would never, ever, inflict the same pain onto you.

You know what's strange, You've called me "Nivalis" twice today and I haven't minded at all. [That's what Ravus called her by and she hates it. It makes her feel so uncomfortable.]
