While I didn't have a whole lot holding me to Starling City beyond Thea, I would have liked something better than the end of all the worlds.

That was a surprise. The second came in the form of Jack Harkness, a younger version of myself or so I thought. Wonderful, wasn't it, that he and Ianto insisted I stay with them? All of them from one of the Doctors to dear Clara have been so accepting of me, except for that one old version of the Doctor. Ten is much more agreeable, not to mention useful. The same could be said of quite a few others. I was carrying my bow and dressed in my League outfit while defending the city, wasn't I? Well, I was as far as any of the people here know.

My point is that even if one of the others arrived, what could they do? Who would believe them? And what would it really matter in a place like this? So, bring them on. Let's see what happens.

Most of the people here aren't all that skilled with weapons, Oliver. If killing were to be done, it would likely be done by me. In a place where sex powers belief and life, killing isn't exactly something any of us are rushing into.

By the way, your story about being the vigilante defending Starling City tested out as the one people liked the best without me needing to wear green. I suppose I should thank you.

Jack's greatcoat is part of him, Ianto. You see it, and you think of him. Even I know that with the month I've been around him.

I wouldn't want one. That's... him.

I know. I know every inch of that coat. I patched the original a dozen times over and found the replacement when the original was destroyed.

But it's also just a coat, and your outfit is just an outfit, despite all their respective connotations. It's alright, on occasion, to take them a little less than seriously for the sake of keeping up morale.

It is the uniform of the League of Assassins, Jack. It's not a safe thing to be wearing should one of the initiated be around.

[An arched brow meets that suggestion, and Malcolm is willing to play along.]

How exactly does me paying you back somehow end up with you winning? 'Winning' usually means you beat me at something. You didn't.

I don't know about that, Jack. I wasn't the one who made the bet with Ianto. I've only known him a short time, and I wouldn't bet anything with him that I couldn't stand to lose.

I find the Doctor with the long ties and pinstripe suit ... interesting. He mentions things and places I'll never go.
