-he rumbles a response and reaches to pat Rocket on the head-

( He folds his arms across his chest, looking Groot up and down when the other pats him on the head. )

Compared to the last time I saw you, I mean. ( And he maybe finds himself reaching out to pat Groot's leg in return. )

-he nods. But he'd always been a quick weed to grow. He just continues to pet rocket, knowing he doesn't usually like hugs-

So what mess is your mun trying to get you in to? Anything worth while?

( He doesn't mind the petting and he even tips his head towards the attention just the slightest bit. His way of saying, yeah, this is okay.

They're professionals, you know. They don't need all that hugging and teary reunion nonsense. Even if he does catch himself reaching to rub the corner of one eye lightly. )

-he knows that Rocket looked after him even when he was a twig. And it was nice, waking up in the new ship with their new friends-

We can keep it but you gotta carry it. I'm not lugging that thing around again unless you're in it.

-he sounds a little mournful and whines, grasping the pot and puts his massive hand around Rocket-

( Rocket sighs, dropping his hand and taking a couple steps closer to Groot when he puts his hand around him. Don't take that tone with him, seriously. You make him kinda feel bad. Kinda. )
