[Hmm. Riku brings a hand to his chin, acting as if this calls for deep and deliberate thought.

...and then that chuckle slips out, and he puts his hands on his hips.]

Sorry, Sora, but while you were off goofing around, I've been having the time of my life.

[Yep. Can't pass up an opportunity to tease his best friend now, can he? He may have matured since the islands, but hey. It's Sora. Somebody's gotta keep him on his toes.]

I wasn't goofing off. I was in space! [ Like forever ago, but it totally counts, right? ] Bet whatever you were doing can't be better than that!

It's cool. I need to mess with Riku's since his paid expired. Or just renew it.

[Okay, granted, space is cool, but Riku's little romp in the Realm of Sleep's brought with it some pretty fun experiences, once you ignore the whole Xehanort incident. He definitely has no plans to drop that on Sora right now. After all, he knows firsthand what it's like getting told the future prior to his canon update.]

I mean, space isn't too bad, but I got to ride around on a motorbike inside of a computer and beat down a giant mantis.

[His words lack the edge he might've had at age fifteen, though he's certainly trying to keep a hint of confidence in his words.]

i figured i'd just go ahead and renew sora's since i was feeling like playing him anyway

A mantis? Inside the computer? [ Is that what they call a computer bug???

The motorbike is super cool and all but c'mon-- how did a bug get inside the computer? That's just weird. ]

Oh yeah. And that wasn't the only thing in there-- met a couple of programs, fought some monsters.

[He shrugs. As he suspected, Sora's reaction was well worth it. But now here comes the key detail:]

Oh, and everyone was dressed in glowing spandex.

Yeah, it looked pretty tacky. Even I'll admit that.

[Sora, you win a gold star for effort, but that stare is so not intimidating.]

But that's just how that world works, and I'm pretty sure you had to wear the same exact thing.

Says the guy who walks around with clown shoes and balloon shorts. You sure that spandex wouldn't be an improvement?

Those were dark days, Sora. Now I wear jeans and a white vest.

More to the point, I got to run around inside a world of dreams, and that was after I helped you take down an evil Organization.

[And after a whole year of darkness struggles, losing his own face... Those were the real dark days, if anything.]

[Great? Well, for the most part. A few road bumps, some darkness issues, and an arm of Xehanorts aside, it's provided Riku with the excitement he sought after way back on the islands.]

Well, right now I'm cooped up in this place called Luceti. Not the worst place to be, if you look past all the danger and the crazy scientists running the place.
